Don't get me wrong, the presentation is neat, the idea is solid, but not enough content to warrant +5. It's not that easy to get a +5 here, and it'll be a slap to the face to those who have earned them in the past, so ya. I'm just telling it how it is man.

It's bit too short. I think 500 words is a good target length to get a +3. This is not a personal attack on you, you seem like a good guy, but I gave the piece a +2. I think given we've got a lot of new GMs, a lot of them need to familiarize themselves with the expectations of writing (expectation SHOULD be 3, above is a bonus), and giving grades. As to getting grades - that's why we have an AG. The AG can bump up... or bump down a piece - and their word's final. Your final grade alotted will be given soon... I haven't exactly decided where I'm going to go on it. Time'll tell. G'luck with the future writing. |

You gave neither. It was an "ok piece", neither insightful nor witty. It got what an average piece does/should get. Honestly what is "pathetic" is the song and dance you've made over it. It has detracted completely from the piece itself. |

It didn't reach the 500 word threshold that would require. I'll admit that I look extremely pathetic here. You saying this was a 2 felt like a slap in the face though after putting in a good amount of time making it. You'd think someone that makes an effort to come off really intelligent (you) would realize it requires going through every team's stats, checking for foreigners, googling players and shit, making the picture.. yada yada. Then I'm supposed to write a 2000 word essay too? A damn 2... But whatever, I'll leave it at that and be on my way.  |

It's ok... but it's not worthy of the reaction you've given. No-one here has stated you need to be writing a 2000 word essay - another overreaction on your part in an effort to belittle - but if you're going to only write barely over 250 words, then you'd better be writing some damn insightful stuff. It had better be incredibly good. You didn't "go through every team's stats". You went through foreign players stats. So you did a bit of research? Spent a bit of time? You're acting as if that alone is something that other pieces haven't done. The majority of pieces written here have a fairly large research element in them, and time is taken to write them as well. HyperYellow wrote this (which got +4 - and that was by vote, not AG), it had a greater degree of research than yours, offered more insight on the players... and quite frankly was simply a better read. shorty's piece on The Chuck phenomenon had at least as much research, and far, far better analysis... and again was a more interesting way to spend a few minutes. It got a +5. Where are you getting that your piece is as good (or better, in the case of the All Stayer piece) as those two? I simply can't see it. The entire reason we have an AG is so that it doesn't turn into a complete love-fest with the voting, or people play favourites (which - to be honest - has not largely been a problem here). Other people have had pieces overruled, and have simply asked "why". I've discussed it with length over PM with a few people ( rookieoftheyear was one, and I *think* BrazilianDude and I have a chat over PM too? There were others...) about things that could have been done - or ideas for future pieces. You? You immediately react petulantly: taking shots at people and heaping derision upon the efforts of others. I really am aghast at the reaction, and can't believe that you feel that this type of behavior might change anything. I promise you, there's no effort at all. What you see is what you get: you don't like it? Entirely your prerogative. Again tho'... that remains completely your choice. |
