To take a bit of a different look into the league, instead of looking at the new comers, it is time to take a look at the players who have been through it all. We spend every year looking at the new guys with wide eyes since we do not know who will be the stars of the future. But there are still guys out there that can teach these young whippersnappers a thing or two about playing in the top basketball league in the world. Today, we bring you the chosen few, that many of whom have been here through nearly a quarter of the league's existence. It is the AARP of NBADSL, the 36 and up crowd.

Notes: Larry Nance and Charlie Scott show may have reached it's end, but their impact in the league is still there. Nance is still a quality starting power forward in this league, and much unlike the others stays very relevant in today's league. However, that contract he just signed along with Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's might go down as the two most risky signing in free agency due to age and deterioration being the large factors. Though while Nance has been traded a could times in his career, he has NEVER signed with a different team in free agency in his 16 years.

Notes: Hairston never was a star in this league but always was a solid player in this league being a solid rebounder, defender, ball handler and decent scorer. At 36, he just started the big fall and descent to retirement as nearly every part of his game is starting to lose it's impact. Hairston may never be well remembered, as he played for ten different teams and never cracked that 20 points per game barrier, but he was a nice starting forward for nearly ten seasons.

Notes: Scott has always been in a league of his own playing most of career with the Chicago Bulls. A top notch defender, scorer, and distributor, Scott has been instrumental to three of bloop's championship titles. These days Scott is passed around quite a bit, but I cannot imagine anyone more fitting to mentor a young forward entering the league than 39 year old, twenty year veteran Charlie Scott.

Notes: Pippen was one of the best scorers in the league during his time with Tyfreak's rendition of the Toronto Raptors. He never became the top-notch defender that he was expected to be, but outside of his scoring ability, he was also a very well rounded player. He rebounded well for his position and played quality defense. He had one of the toughest declines in the offseason, but hey, what do you expect for a guy still playing at 40 years old.

Notes: If you were to come up with only one word to describe Thurl Bailey throughout his career, it would be "consistent". For the last 12 seasons he has averaged a double double every season, having his breakout year in the last of blue's Boston Celtic team averaging 21 points and 11 rebounds a game. He'll never be an all-star, but he has always been a guy that you can count on to contribute from the center or power forward positions.

Notes: Huertas enters as our least seasoned veteran on the list. When he started, he was one of the top players for the then-lowly Nuggets franchise as their starting point guard. While he still has his shot and handling abilities, he has become one of the worst defenders to make a team in NBADSL.

2033 - Sixth Man of the Year
Notes: Hinson is not what he used to be, but he is still a serviceable big man to come off the bench or cover during injuries to the core. In the past, Hinson was one of the more elite shot blockers in the league at his peak blocking 4.0 shots a game with the Wizards in 2037. Hinson's defense has fallen hard this offseason and he may have lost his touch for rejecting the basketball.

Notes: Granted an high paying three year contract at the age of 38 years young, Kareem still has a lot of pop in his step. However, it is no where near the game that he brought in the years of old. If it wasn't for the contract, I would put Kareem as a nice 6th man or spot starting big, but with defense and scoring failing, he cannot produce the same impact he did in the past. He will be a great mentor for any young big.

Notes: Dominique Wilkins has been a tremendous scorer for many years resulting in 138 play of the game honors. He helped save the Spurs from Contract Year in 2040 and since then he has been moved to supporting role with defense that is no longer passable in the league. He is one of the few that went up in any category at this age, learning to be more of an outside scorer as his inside game wears down.

Notes: Who could forget CF55's love affair with Aguirre that lasted three seasons and boosted Aguirre to his sole All-Star game in 2030. Aguirre remained a good scorer for the rest of his career to averaging nearly 28 points a game in 2040 for the Bucks.

Notes: Kellogg has always been pretty average at everything but never great in one particular category. Due to his well rounded game, he has been able to stay in the game for a long 17 years, but now as his game starts to deteriorate, it may be time stop waiting by the phone and hang the towel and enjoy the riches he made during his career.

Notes: Free agent right now. Never was truly an impact player, but in his 14 years, he has shown that he is a quality big man off the bench and even has done well as a spot starter. His fall from grace shows that maybe it is time to find a hobby as he waits for his hopeful final call from a team.
