I think they should still be in CY or Renegade should lose the team.

I think they should still be in CY or Renegade should lose the team. realistically if hes gone 3 weeks he should just be on the WL and pick up next team when hes back. its not liek this team had any foundation what so ever

I think they should still be in CY or Renegade should lose the team. CYs are for GMs not franchises, and if you have to step away for personal reasons you shouldn't be penalized. But his CY should carry over when he returns

Literally no point in placing the Raptors in CY when the GM isn't even here

Literally no point in placing the Raptors in CY when the GM isn't even here What's the point of CY ? In my mind it was originally designed to prevent teams from tanking too many years in a row. But I must be wrong, or it would not be possible for a team to tank 8 years in a row while switching GM every two years...

It's like a fair way to fire a gm if they suck. But I say we scrap it and if a gm is really that bad just cut them loose

Post by themouth on Sept 6, 2015 17:02:16 GMT
Lol Bundy never needed any reason for fire a GM he thought sucked
I like CY, I think it's a good way to make people try and improve their team every few years. But it does not play its role if a GM can just lend its team in CY year

I think basically this is CY for Raptors, or its not unc's team any more when he returns, one or the other

UC is an active GM, it's not like he's not making moves. He's made the second most trades since July. I don't think you can just shop someone's team when they have to travel for a death in the family.

And dude doesn't even try to tank, he always tries to better his team. He hates that tanking mentality That's for sure. He once told me he was trying to compete while at 20-40, something like that. Pretty ambitious lol Obviously my point is not about the Raptors, they did not even tank last year. But it's a thinking about CY.

This year should be a write off for the Raptors, even if they reach the playoffs they will be in their CY. Not going to allow any trades or camps to happen till he returns, will be boring for the temp GM though.

CY is staying as long as Im involved in the league, its not being CYd means your banned from the league, its just a bad rap to have hovering over your head while the league is still operating

it's completely fair to reset CY when a new GM steps into the scene, typically these teams suck, the GM loses interest and then they're a year or two away from CY. A new GM shouldn't have that pressure, no need for him to be a shorter leash then say another GM who just happened to luck into a playoff team.
Unfortunately, that creates teams like the Pacers who have had multiple GM's and not much success to show for it. But, every league has those kinds of teams when they go for as long as we have. I also think we're getting some really nice GM's for those kinds of teams (aar/Wizards tyfreak/Pacers etc). Think alot of the "cellar dwellers" of the old are becoming competitive teams now which is good for this league.

Not necessarily a punishment if they fail, maybe a reward if they pass.
