Alright I'm back in the article game since CY is coming up next season and my players suck ass.
* Summerleague was actually CPU-Preseason. There is no actual SL anymore.
1. Nuggets: Joe Johnson SG 6'8'' 225 19 B- B- C+ B- C A
After TC: B- B- B- C+ C A
Joe’s defense fell to C+ while moving to SF and didn’t make the climb back up to B- during TC. His handles were the only thing to improve. He’s about to get +8 from MJ and full RC pretty quick, then an NBA ready camp, so hopefully he isn’t a complete pile of shit next year.
2. Lakers: Elton Brand PF 6'8'' 275 20 B- C- C- B- B A
After TC: B- C- D+ B+ B A
Brand also moved positions and is now a C. Makes sense since he’s a 275 pound monster. His handles dropped but his defense went +2. He did a block and steal in SL which isn’t spectacular but should improve. Brand should have a really nice career with alot of the good Centers becoming older and starting to decline.
3. Hawks(via Mavericks): Steve Francis B- C+ C+ C C A
After TC: B- B- C+ C C A
The trend continues of the top lotto picks only improving in one category. Franchise’s outside went +1. Not really sure what to expect out of Stevie Franchise yet, didn’t see much court time in SL. Time will tell. Most PGs who specialize in Inside scoring don't really become much if my memory is correct on this one.
4. Hawks via Knicks: Mehmet Okur B- B C C+ C+ A
After TC: B- B C B C+ A
Okur improved his defense. He doesn’t appear to be much of a stat defender based off his SL play so must be post defense, maybe some strength increase. He shot .804 from the stripe during SL which is pretty promising. Also 50% from 3 but it’s probably a tiny sample, 2/4 or something. Okur should be a solid all around player, not many weaknesses but not amazing at anything either.
5. Trailblazers DeShawn Stevenson SG 6'5'' 210 19 C B- C C+ C B
After TC: C+ B- C B- C B
Stevenson is still only sitting at 19 years old. He got limited minutes in SL but did shoot the rock very well when he was on the floor against scrubs in garbage time. A +2 TC looks decent especially given his young age and the fact that he has years left to continue improving.
6. Suns Jamal Crawford SG 6'6'' 185 20 C B+ C+ C D+ B
After TC: C A- C+ C D+ B
Jamal has been moved to PG . Makes sense given his D+ rebounding and weighing 185. He looks alright. Average stats in SL for a youngster. Time will tell if he is starting material in this league, or if he is more of a PG/SG backup like real life.
7. Knicks via Warriors: Judah Maccabee PG 6'8'' 215 18 C B- B- C+ C B
Pretty sure this dude isn’t in the league yet. Might be wrong though.
8. Raptors: Clarence "Coffee" Black SG 6'7'' 220 20 B- B- D+ C C- B
After TC: B- B- C- C C- B
His handles went from complete shit to just regular shit. Other than that, no change. Clarence is now on the Pacers after tyfreak used the expansion draft to his advantage to make a solid trade. One of my greatest memories from this league was trading Melo in his prime to tyfreak for a couple scrubs because I wanted to tank, then waiving my PG, I believe Devin Harris, and everyone in the league freaking out lol.
9. Heat: Shaun Cagaoan C 7'3'' 310 22 B- F+ D C+ B- C
After TC: B- F+ D- C+ B- B
Well, the third straight fake player to be drafted didn’t show up for TC. His scouted pot is now showing B, since the scouts assume his first year of steroids and GH treatment will help his game, but he hasn’t shown any increase in skill. His D handles somehow got worse. He’s 7’3, 310 though so fuck it. He still put up a double double in SL.
10. Nets: Hedo Turkoglu SF 6'10'' 220 21 C+ B- C+ C C+ A
After TC: B- B- C+ C C+ A
Kind of surprised Hedo fell to pick 10. His game translates to sim league well. He was meh in SL but one thing we got to see is that he should be a very good rebounding SF, which can be pretty valuable. Turkey-glue has a chance to be one of the better picks in this draft imo depending on camps and future TCs.
11. Rockets via Pacers: Darius Miles SF 6'9'' 210 19 C+ C C C+ C A
After TC: C+ C C B- C A
The only player taken in the lotto that has also starred in a movie. Versatility at its finest. Darius showed an increase in defense. He likely won’t become a good offensive player during his career given what we’ve seen early on, but you never know. He averaged more boards than points during SL. He put up 1.5 steals as a rookie in SL, that will probably be his strongest ability, stealing the rock.
12. Cavaliers: Mike Miller SG 6'8'' 218 20 C+ B- C C D+ A
After TC: C+ B C+ C D+ B
It doesn’t look like a massive increase, but going +1 in 2 categories is one of the better TCs anyone in the lotto had. Outside and Handles both +1. Mike will be an interesting player to watch. He sucks at rebounding which hurts, but should develop a nice offensive game. He only turned the ball over 0.9 a game in 32.5 minutes during SL. Holy shit Mikey!
13. Warriors via Magic: Havey Litt PG 6'7'' 203 18 B- C B- C+ C D
After TC: B- C+ B- B- C C
Harvey is young as fuck, still only showing 18 years old. He went +1 Outside and +1 Defense, pretty standard for a young PG. Harvey’s also a massive PG which makes him interesting at 6’7 203, but as of now he sucks balls given his SL stats. He shot 36% from the floor.
