In this thread, ask your favourite Blazer a question. Expect honest answers to honest questions. That's how we roll in Rip City. Mmm? Interesting?

Looking to next season, what can we expect from the Trail Blazers?

With C-Webb calling curtains on his illustrious career, who do you think will be able to fill the void left at power forward?

Mr Chris Paul,
How different is it going to be without playing without your veteran power forward Chris Webber?

With C-Webb calling curtains on his illustrious career, who do you think will be able to fill the void left at power forward? Malik Rose: Thanks for question Mr Burger, I'll respond to that. I think I'm probably the best option at power forward for our GM at this time. My bench numbers over the past few years would suggest that I can average a double double in starting minutes. It's not the ideal situation for me at this point in my career, but I've always worked by the philosophy that I'm in this league for a reason, and that reason is to do what I need to do for my team to win. All in all though, I guess it depends on what sort of offence we run, KVH may be more suited to starting in an outside focus.

Mr Chris Paul, How different is it going to be without playing without your veteran power forward Chris Webber? Chris Paul: Well I would be kidding myself if I said it was going to be easier, a presence like C-Webb's is force to be reckoned with. His passing and awareness were a cut above the average power forward's. I'm struggling to find any positive out of this at all to be honest, I guess Joe Johnson and I will get a few more shots per game? I know that is a pretty selfish perspective to take, but that is probably the only way we'll put enough points on the board for wins.

To whom is this question directed? Umm... you I guess (?). Most Q&A threads have developed along the lines of questions-for-the-GM... Bonzi Wells: I've been a part of this team since the inception of the league, and have a pretty good idea of how things work around here. I've seen the ups and downs - mainly the downs, and I think this year we're heading towards another down. We're totally lacking depth up in the paint, and the GM can go jump if he thinks I'll be manning the 4 spot. And to compound the woes, we don't have a first this year to tank into lottery contention. So yeah, expect player dissent, low scores, and Rubes and I to spend more than one night in the lock-up.

What does the organization expect to get out of Joe Johnson this coming season ? Joe Johnson: We had our exit interviews at the end of last season, and the discussion was based around championship windows. With the roster as it is, it was made clear to me that it is closer to closed than open here. I have to admit that this "confession" disappointed me greatly. Now I play with a winning mentality, so expect me to score when the opportunity presents itself, expect me to play the lanes and pick up steals, and expect me lead with my experience. Having said that, it's obvious that I'll be trade bait as management look towards the future.

With Joe Johnson now gone, is anyone safe? GM HyperYellow: Firstly, it was with a touch of sadness that we said goodbye to Joe. It is a pretty good indication that nobody is safe in this league. With formalities like that out of the way, I can say that trading him away was for the better of the team, and any trades that present themselves will be pursued with vigor, IF I think it improves the team in some way. It is fair to say though that a PG of Chris Paul's caliber and character don't come around too often, and will not be put on the trade block any time soon.

Will adam morrison get any minutes? or is he never going to play because hes white Coach Chupacabra: We've never really had a team focused so intently on inside scoring to the point where Adam's spot-up perimeter shooting could be properly implemented in the game-plan. Acquiring Shaq changes that. We're expecting Adam to play a much larger role this season, his white-boy fear of the paint will allow Shaq and Anderson to operate nicely on the inside without the wings getting in their way.

With Shaq coming to town, are the Blazers in win-now mode? Shaq: Seriously? Seriously? Have you ever known the Big Diesel to be in anything BUT win-now mode? Have you ever know Chris Paul to be in anything but win-now mode? Have you ever known a team without a first round pick to be in anything bit win-now mode? Come on... next question please!

I'll never say there is no room for improvement, but our starting 5 covers all bases and then some. We look at San Antonio as a possible threat, but get them on our home court and we will destroy them too.

That's quite a bit of confidence Shaq. With that expectation in mind what big changes are needed to correct the 6-10 preseason record moving forward to compete with the rest of the Western conference.

Well I thought our actions would speak louder than words. WRONG. Adam Morrison is a weak link. The only Portland chuck is me at the FT line. And I'm not sure if Andy V knows when passing would be a better option. GM HyperYellow needs to get on that phone and make deals man!

Any truth to reports that Chris Paul is frustrated with management ?

GM HyperYellow: Chris made a contribution to the decision to take the Blazers in the direction they took at the start of this season. The decision I ultimately was based on the strengths Chris brings to court, which is primarily his ability to get to the hoop. So to answer the above question, no Chris is not upset in any way in Portland, other than his own inability to develop a dominant scoring game.

The Shaq-Paul experiment has failed. Is this Shaq's last season in Portland? I think it is fair to assume he would not be offered a max contract, but we do have a big flexibility in regards to salary this off season, and there always a demand for defensive big men.

With the slow start to begin the season, will management stick to its core group of players or look to make some major changes in the near future? We'd like to think the slow start to the season was caused by a combination of things, injuries to 3 starters and DC change misunderstandings by admin. We've tried to take a positive attitude to this and observe how some of our fringe players have performed when given more minutes. We have been moderately pleased by what we've seen, with Kosta Koufos and Mo Williams the standouts. So no, we think the core is more than capable of progressing us through the first round of the play-offs at least. We've also invested in some training camps that have made our best players better, and are quietly ecstatic with the results of these. Also, as evidenced by our 8-2 record over the last 10 games - we think we're one of the four hottest teams in the league right now and are hoping to take advantage of the second half of the season which will see us play 25 out of 40 games at home.
