From now If a pick is being submitted in a trade with a protection on it but not being listed as being owed the teams next years 1st unprotected then you will lose the pick originally owed next year.
Basically saying your not automatically owed the next yr 1st like before, you need to have an understanding between both GMs involved and the simmer trading it in. This kicks in this Season, previous or already submitted protected picks fall into the previous rule.

This explanation is a bit confusing.

So they are submitted correctly, it's the same shit as before, just needs to be confirmed by both GMs, saves confusion down the track

Grizz trade lotto protected 2042 1st rounder to Bulls
Grizz finish within the lotto
Grizz keeps pick, Bulls receive nothing.
Bulls receive nothing because it wasnt listed that Bulls receive Grizz 2043 1st unprotected if Grizz keep 2042 1st

The issue is that teams are dealing protected picks and then dealing their 1st the following year.

The person taking a chance on a protected pick should include the unprotected for the following year which should be included in the trade.
