When I first started making this article, I was very upset Tracy McGrady from the Houston Rockets couldn't be part of it because it is such a really good class that came out and he would of just made it even better. Well just looking at the draft anyway. Although I am still kinda disappointed but even without McGrady this year, it still looks like a very good class. You have guys from Kobe Bryant, KG, Billups, Clay Elliot, Stephen Jackson, Keith Van Horn, etc. I will try to predict this years ROTY. Although it will be difficult, I hope to be as close as possible. Lets see if we have any surprises.......
5th Place
2040 Season Stats: Stephen Jackson
RPG APG SPG BPG TO PPG
3.6 2.3 1.6 0.4 2.2 11.8
I hope I did get you guys going crazy with putting Jackson first. Lol. Jackson came in 5th place for me. I believe he will become a good player in the league, but the first year I don't see he winning ROTY. His notes did tell us he is able to play multiple position so you know he can bring that versatility to your team and he does have pretty good defense. If you kept reading, you would notice that in the beginning that Jackson will be very inconsistent. I feel that alone will cost him ROTY.
Kobe Bryant
4th Place
2040 Season Stats: Kobe Bryant
RPG APG SPG BPG TO PPG
3.1 2.5 0.9 0.5 3.0 15.7
Now I know I might get killed for this, but yes I have put Kobe in 4th place for ROTY. Bare with me though guys. Yes Kobe has ton of hype coming into this league and when we saw him play we saw he had plenty of talent along with the hype , but as his notes said. He is a very raw prospect coming into the league. I think it will take him sometime to peak but his rookie year in the NBADSL won't be the year. He will score about 16ppg, but that's about it and I doubt that will be enough for him to win the ROTY. Maybe Kobe and the Sonics will prove me wrong, but only time will tell. Sorry Kobe Fans, please don't hate me. lol
Keith Van Horn
3rd Place
2040 Season Stats: Kevin Van Horn
RPG APG SPG BPG TO PPG
5.6 1.7 1.0 0.4 2.6 17.3
Keith Van Horn, hmm what can you say about him. You can say he will be a very good scorer in this league. He has a beautiful mid range. He'll be able to shoot from downtown as well. Van Horn is capable of playing both small and power forward position, so the Hawks just have to figure out where to place him to get the most out of him. His offense will be superb but his defense on the other hand will be holding him back to become a great player in this league. He'll be too slow on defensive to guard small forwards and to weak to guard power forwards as the notes taught us, so that will hurt him. Hopefully Atlanta figures out how to use him and where to play him.
Chauncey Billups
Runner-Up
2040 Season Stats: Billups
RPG APG SPG BPG TO PPG
3.3 5.8 1.7 0.3 2.1 13.4
I know Billups is not a scoring machine like some of the other guys but that is not who Billups is. He's a floor general who can knocked down shots. His defensive is what brings you to love his game. There are a lot of good point guards in this league, so having a pg who can lock them up would be very helpful to their team. Billups probably wont the passer that Stockton is but he won't be turning the ball over as much either. Now i know I talked about his offensive like he has none, but he can score some points. I believe he will score enough to contend for ROTY.
Drum Roll Please....
Rookie of The Year!
2040 Season Stats: KG
RPG APG SPG BPG TO PPG
8.7 2.8 1.4 1.1 2.3 17.8
Kevin Garnett, The Big Ticket, Mr. KG himself is the guy who I will be predicting to win rookie of the year. He is the most NBADSL ready player coming out this year. I thought he was coming out last year, but he shocked us all and did one year at Duke, which I believed helped greatly to polish his game. Not that I thought he wouldn't be good coming straight out of HS, but I believe this will turn him into a whole another beast. Garnett has a mid range that can hurt other bigs because it will be hard to contest but he can also bang down low in the post. 18pts, 9rbs, a stl, & a blk per game will lock him the ROTY and I believe he will continue to dominate in this league. Hopefully the Knicks can use him the right way. shots at SuperMaor23. Lol.
