New GM as of midseason, so there's plenty to ask about. Leggo

What are your short-term goals for what has been (to this point) a pretty mediocre performance?

What are your short-term goals for what has been (to this point) a pretty mediocre performance? I took over a losing team that was, for the most part, cap-fucked and without many future bright spots. This season is about increasing success mobility and positioning the feanchise for next year. We're looking closely at Iguodala's growth and the team's free agency targets. The draft is going to be huge for us too.

With you examining the trade market for Nick Collison, is it safe to say that he wont be back in Milwaukee next season?

With you examining the trade market for Nick Collison, is it safe to say that he wont be back in Milwaukee next season? It's about market value really. If we retain him this year he may be gone in free agency anyway. It would be nice to re-sign him but that is also up in the air. It's safe to say that nobody is safe on this roster for the time being, but it's also safe to say that those who perform will have a long career in Milwaukee.

Psst... new guy: when you see me writing in red in the Articles section, I am "The Article Grader" (or simply *AG*). Here goes...
If you could quote each question when you answer, it will save trouble later - like when you have multiple questions to ask.

Is Iguodala the franchise player that your franchise needs?

Is Iguodala the franchise player that your franchise needs? Time will tell. Andre is a key cog in what we do on both ends of the floor at the least.

How much money will the organization be willing to pay Al Jefferson in the off-season ? Realistically, both Iguodala and Jefferson have shown they're going to command something close to a max deal based off production and upside. We'll pay what we have to in order to bring them back.

What do you hope to accomplish this off-season ?

What do you hope to accomplish this off-season ? We have three first round draft choices, and early second rounder, and sufficient cap room to fill our voids. Bringing back Iguodala was key, and we can now enter the draft with confidence that We'll be able to add four impact rookies. We'll address our needs and, if all goes well, the season will begin with a roster we can hope to keep around and build up going forward.

Dear Bucks,
What's the situation with TJ Ford? Is there a current rift between player and team?

Dear Bucks, What's the situation with TJ Ford? Is there a current rift between player and team? TJ has done a fair job running the team and playing defense, but the past management overpaid a lot of guys for too many years. This is a situation based solely around contracts, so we're doing our job assessing market value.

What kind of player are you looking to add with the #9 pick?

What kind of player are you looking to add with the #9 pick? We had our eyes on Ibaka and Hibbert, and were fortunate enough to have one fall into our lap.

What role do you see Ibaka developing into on this team?

The bucks seem like they are a small forward away from being a playoff team that could make noise. Do you have any plans to address the small forward position?

What role do you see Ibaka developing into on this team? Ibaka will step in and instantly get minutes. Hopefully he develops to become more than a rim protector.

Are the Bucks playoff bound this season in your opinion? We shall see. Offseason improvements will surely help us, and the East is still weak despite improving in the offseason. If I had to guess I'd say were a lower seeded playoff team, but we could end up in a number of situations.

Darius Miles' defense returned for a reasonable price, but we're looking to add scoring in the wing to pair with Andre. By opening day we hope to have this hole addressed.

What are your expectations for this season?

What are your expectations for this season? Time will tell. We would like to see an improvement over last season's product, and if things go well at the start we might try to push the envelope and make the playoffs during the rebuild. If we don't end up making it until next season, that's also fine. The timeline is set for a 2010 playoff push.

You posted an 8-8 record this pre-season, and a quick look at your roster would suggest that you don't have much salary flexibility for the foreseeable future. Do you have any regrets about your recent signings, or are you content to play the waiting game and see if this team can rise above the mediocrity that 8-8 record suggests?

(feel free to ask questions of other GMs, it's why they're asking you stuff!)
Building on Hyper's question: do you think the pre-season was an accurate picture of who the Bucks are as a team?

This team is a move away from huge flexibilty so I'm not concerned.
