1. Where do you see your team ending up by the end of the season?
Bulls: I think we can contend again this year. We have all of our starters returning and our 6th and 7th men in Drew and Lever. Barring a major injury, I think we should at least make the ECF. Once the playoffs come around though, anything is really possible as seen by last year with the double 8th seed upsets.
Magic: Right now we're at 16-2 and honestly, I'm not convinced just yet. I think we'll end up skipping towards ASW, or even after. I hope we can get past the second round but no expectations for a championship this season, but hey, you never know.
Celtics: Not sure to be honest, hoping for another 'ship but there's some tough teams out there. We started off pretty bad but have had a couple of plus sims these past two so hopefully we turn it around. Hoping for at least playoffs, and making it to the conference finals as the 8 seed I know anything can happen once you're in the dance.
Grizzlies: Either somehow making the 8 seed or handing a lotto pick over to the heat. The magic injury turned me from top 5 team out west into a failure. Pretty upsetting especially seeing the God draft class I'll miss on.
Hawks: Hopefully with a really shit record and a top 10 pick at the very least.
Sonics: Well, we're a championship contending team, so I expect to end up with Alonzo Morning this year. The nice thing is we'll have Wilson next season, so we can go back to sucking again once when he comes over. I can't wait until that happens
Cavs: I honestly don't what to expect with this team. We've been up an down all season long. Outside Kareem and to some extent Ralph, the whole team is underachieving IMO. I still believe that we have top 4 seed potential so hopefully I can maximize this team's potential.
T'Wolves: With good fortune? In last. More realistically I think we'll end up in the bottom 5 which is in this draft should be a quality prospect.
2. Which team is the biggest threat to your team this season?
Bulls: The Raptors without a doubt. We have already lost twice to them this season and their big 3 is rolling right now. Our two weakest defensive positions are SG and PG and Miller and Cousy can take advantage of that. The Raptors are due for a Finals appearance too in my opinion.
Magic: Right now we're at 16-2 and honestly, I'm not convinced just yet. I think we'll end up skipping towards ASW, or even after. I hope we can get past the second round but no expectations for a championship this season, but hey, you never know.
Celtics: Bulls, Magic, Raptors. Always a force in the east, always give me trouble whether its the Bulls dominant rebounding, Magic impregnable defense, or the Raptors big 3, we can't seem to beat them.
Grizzlies: Not really doing much competing so I don't think I'll have a threat. But I think the suns put together a real nice squad. Magic and bulls also looking lethal.
Hawks: Any cellar dweller that just so happens to beat us
Sonics: whoever wants 2nd place this year, I'm handing out a 2nd place ribbon for free this season. First come first serve
Cavs: I have not managed to follow the league for the most part of the season due to my tight schedule but I think it still has to be the Bulls. They've beaten us 9 times out of 10 in PO matchups so it has to be them. And they have DRob, one of the few players who can contain Kareem.
T'Wolves: Sonics and Hornets (if Itty commits to the full tank) are probably the main threats. Hawks could definitely be in the conversation as well.
3. Are you tanking or trying to win a ring this season?
Bulls: I'm trying to win a ring this season. I tried to tank once and I sucked at it and won 41 games, so I'm not trying to do that again anytime soon.
Magic: I'm trying to win, but as I've said above, I'm not expecting much. I like to think I made a good trade, trading away my best PG and PF for ones that balance my team out. So far, it has worked, but don't know exactly how far we'll get.
Celtics: With no pick this or next year due to the Wimberg trade, definitely trying to win a ring. Even though this draft is stacked and I'm a little upset by it.
Grizzlies: Always trying but this season is doubtful. Not much is going my way. I've had a lot of luck in the past so I guess it's time for a bad spell.
Hawks: Definitely tanking. Malone isn't at the All-Star level yet, Issel is on the decline and Gervin is just taking up cap space. Sucks that I thought this team could be competitive and I gave a first for Gervin but oh well, worth the risk.
Sonics: I just fucking said I'm trying to win a ring this year, why are you repeating questions?
Cavs: Having Kareem and all these old players on my team, I have to aim to win a ring aye. Tanking is stressfree but winning games is more fun.
T'Wolves: Obviously this team has championship written all over it. After all we did beat the Grizzlies. In all seriousness Mitch Richmond is going to cry himself to sleep for the rest of the season.
4. Will the Nuggets beat their Cy?
Bulls: I hope so. They have a strong frontcourt so I can definitely see them winning a few more than 42 games. Being in the West helps, too (EAST FOR LIFE).
Magic: I think they will. They've got a decent team to go for a playoff spot, but the West is always tough. Like I said, however, I think they've got a decent chance.
Celtics: Right now they are hoovering around .500 but staying a few games above, and all you need is 2. I think they can, but you never know.
Grizzlies: I would think so. They are currently 14-11. They don't have a great team but it's good enough and I hope he gets 6,7 or 8 seed.
Hawks: Yeah they have a solid team. The West isn't particularly strong so I think he has a good chance of getting 42 wins, or making the playoffs at the very least. Should be interesting.
Sonics: well fuck, they got a differential of around +7 so I would say ya, that's the safe bet anyways, but crazy shit happens so you never know
Cavs: I believe so. They have one of the best frontcourts in the league which probably guarantees a minimum of 42 wins. As long as their other players don't fuck up too bad, they'll be fine.
T'Wolves: He'll get it done... barely. I expect the final sim will be extremely stressful for him though.
5. If you could slap any GM from NBADSL (past or present) who would it be and why?
Bulls: Braz daily because he's a dbag. Itnas the one time when he traded Macvan and IT to dae for like nothing. I still think my Newman, King, Mudiay, Turner core should've won more rings if not for that trade.
Magic: Bundy. Only because he toys with all of our emotions when he says he'll be leaving the league, yet keeps coming back. Haha it's all love, though.
Celtics: Braz, because I have and because he sucks. And possibly BTown because he left me with sucha shitty team to take over, and he quit right before his CY so I didn't even get an expansion draft, traded away my pick for that season (was top 6 protected so I got DeAndre Ayton, but lost it next year), and didnt RFA a young Trey Burke so I was without a staple position for years and almost got CY'd myself.
Grizzlies: Malice. He was so fucking arrogant and annoying. But I miss the guy he was a good gm and a big part to the league we had.
Hawks: Shard. Dude quit a league over someone fucking up. Was the biggest crybaby I think I've ever seen.
Sonics: you mean a slap on the back of the head while hugging them? No one, that's just fucking weird
Cavs: Lakersgm1 so he can stop saying "Nets trading". Or maybe itty so he can finally decide which route to take once and for all lol
T'Wolves: Hambergler - he's the only person I've ever banned from chat. Seems applicable here.
6. Who's on your greatest NBADSL player of all time mountain rushmore?
Bulls: I haven't been here the entire length of this league. I guess I'd go Kobe, Drose, Embiid, and LeBron. I'm biased as hell for putting LeBron but I think his title team was pretty trash outside of himself. Al Jefferson, Favors, LeBron, Butler, Beverely. And he beat that Spurs megateam. Honorable mentions would be Melo, Wiggins, Deron Davis, and Cousy.
Magic: I left after spending around 10 seasons, the feat I had with my old rockets team, so I wouldn't really know or my mt Rushmore wouldn't be accurate. I'd go with Kobe, Tyonne Malone, Shaq, and JO
Celtics: DeAndre Ayton, Pistol Maravich, and Jarred Vanderbilt. These guys are the face of the Celtics and should have their numbers retired by the franchise
Grizzlies: nikola because he was just fuckig amazing and did everythig from score to board to pass to block. B Roy because he didn't miss a step and played so effectively till he was 40.. I thought he would retire like 10 times but he kept dropping 30. Rose has to be on there. He's the only reason super was ever a good Gm. Multiple mvp and rings. And last I would split a face between embid and deron Davis they were pretty much the same player during the same era. Between the two of them they won like 6 of 8 rings in a period
Hawks:
Derrick Rose - Was an absolute machine. Dominated every game and took the shittest of players surrounding him to the playoffs
Brandon Roy - Was a pain in my ass for 5 seasons since every year you thought he would start to decline only to see him improve. Was a nightmare.
Mirotic - Greatest player in the league's history I think. Nobody had his combination of points/rebounds/assists/blocks/steals/3p%.
Deron Davis - Closest thing we've seen to Mirotic
Sonics: Moses Malone, George Mikan, Jackie Moreland, Tyonne Malone and Kenny Smith. All of them have/had amazing careers and they all deserves such a strong honor
Cavs:
DRose- the MVPs and rings speak for themselves
Tyonne Malone- sorry Kobe but Malone was just the ultimate cheatcode/glitch/whatever. He carried multiple teams to finals appearances and championships
De'Ron Davis and Nikola Mirotic- amazing feats winning multiple MVPs/DPOYs in the same year
T'Wolves: From my personal teams I would definitely have Macvan and Kane. Macvan especially was dominant during my era. Mirotic was extremely effective and would be in my All-time starting lineup. Can't ignore Kobe and Roy as well.
7. What is one thing you wish that you could fix or improve for your team?
Bulls: My PG position still sucks. Walker seems to have taken a step back this season, so I'm going with Lever for now. I think I'm pretty set at every other position, but PG seems to be our Achilles heel. Whenever I look at the box scores the PGs shit on us regularly too. If we don't go far in the playoffs it's definitely because of this flaw.
Magic: I would like to have a deeper team, so a better bench would be great. I didn't get my bids in for FA, so that's my fault, but I was able to pick up some players from waivers. Also, I would have loved to have a better contract (Allonzo), just so I have a decent amount of cap for next FA.
Celtics: Definitely get Wimberg defense at SG up to B/B+ or get a dominant PF/C like I had in Ayton for all those years.
Grizzlies: Right now I need another guard to fill the gap for magic. If I could change one thing though I would improve Oscars athletic ability or defense. My teams lack of D has been a huge liability this year.
Hawks: Malone and IT to actually be like real life Malone and IT. That'd be pretty sweet.
Sonics: probably the guy making the decisions for this team. Who the fuck is running that shithole of a team?
Cavs: A wing player who can replace Malone's production. Our wings have been mediocre for the past couple of seasons which probaly explains why we've gone from dominant to mediocre. I also wish my frontcourt would score and dominate other frontcourts more often.
T'Wolves: Ability to skip to the end of the season. Wolves are rebuilding properly so the fans will have to watch us build very slowly. Victor finding a new home would probably be helpful to the cause as well.
8. Is lakers209er an idiot for accidently having 8 people reply on this roundtable, rather than 6 or 7 people
Bulls: Nah I did the roundtable once and it's a pain in the ass. It's easy to make a mistake with it.
Magic: No, but he is an idiot for not giving back the Rockets. All jokes, though, brotha.
Celtics: Yes and no, on one hand more competition for me to get the +3 AC, on the other also might have no got in if not for the extra couple people. 50/50. But he's always a good roundtable proctor and I always enjoy doing these.
Grizzlies: Nah he's a cool guy. More the merrier
Hawks: Naw, it took 8 people to actually allow me to participate in one of these things
Sonics: um.......... Yes? IDK, I got into this thing so I don't give a shit.
Cavs: Nah. People make mistakes.
T'Wolves: I think he's just enthusiastic and really pushing for that +5. I'm definitely on to him.
Bulls: I think we can contend again this year. We have all of our starters returning and our 6th and 7th men in Drew and Lever. Barring a major injury, I think we should at least make the ECF.
