Hey everyone! note exactly sure when a new CBA is due but shorty mentioned the idea to me a bit ago. So lets get some discussions rolling and then once we have an idea of what the league wants we can get some voting going and plan a date for it all to take affect if the commish approves. Post below the changes the people want to see. personally i would want to see the following 1. cap raised about 2 mil but not forever increasing to a ridiculous number as it was 2. an option to cut rookies after a certain period 2 seasons maybe. I hate having to use my 25+ pick and pay some loser 2mil a year if he doesnt miraculously pan out 3. a written rule that is 100% confirmed on CY picks so this doesnt happen again. it is a grey area because if CY is looming a team should have the right to move picks for good players to survive... but on the other hand if that doesnt work out it leaves a huge mess.... 4. Maybe a total revamp of the CY system. I dont like that Gms get fired and the team gets whiped out. If the team didnt get whiped out the new Gm prob wouldnt cry as much about no picks since they have something to work with. or the Gm stays and his team gets whiped. that way the Gm lives with his issues *** would not be allowed to trade players for picks after being mathematically eliminated

I'm in favor of raising the HC for reasons stated in previous CBA's, but like Braz said only a slight increase.
Also maybe allow GM's to re-neg contracts say 10% for 750 or something like that.

I agree with restructuring CY... trading away 3 futures (albeit protected) and then losing the team is pretty silly

I agree with restructuring CY... trading away 3 futures (albeit protected) and then losing the team is pretty silly yeah its weird bc you cant tell a Gm to not trade away his firsts. Blue just traded 3 for wimberg but that will help him and hopefully the firsts become useless. idt anyone expected the wovles team to perform so bad to get the second pick in CY with Magic and some other quality players

1. I agree small raise in cap but nothing that will results in the decreases like before. 2. Maybe a cut rule based on where the player is picked? Lotto 3 years,14-21 2 years,22-29 1 year? 3 & 4. I hate the CY system as it because of the pick grey area and the fact it leaves teams shitty for new GM's. Not to mention it hurts FA for the rest of the league because new gms can just select all cheap players then can have a ton of cap room.

Suggestions:
- A CY team cannot put protection on the pick they are trading in their CY year. - A new GM taking over an expansioned team has to have at least 35 mil on the salary book after the expansion draft

If we go firing GM and not wiping team route, then the new GM should get one amnesty in cases the desperate CY GM takes on a bad contract to try to stay alive.

draft lists vs standard allotted time for picking. draft lists are hardly ever sent, by myself included and this is a problem as it slows down the draft process. i know it's annoying if we have a later pick and the draft gets started before the playoffs and its not fair that some teams get more time than others because people want to scout but dont know who will be available when their up and they dont want to waste money.
contrary to the draft posts lists dont take 5 minutes if you're picking in the middle of the pack which is likely why some GM's dont make them.
dandias made a point that teams aren't given the same amount of time and with the different times zones we live in it gets tough. but lists should be mandatory but there also should be an allotted time just in case playoffs end sooner than expected or something comes up.
my proposals: 1. mandatory lists, if none is given teams get penalized with pick forfeiture or the following team(s) gets to pick and the team with no list or selection just keeps moving down in draft order until a pick or list is sent.
2. 30 minute times for draft. to make it fair the draft will probably have get broken up into lotto and PO drafts since the rest of the draft order isnt determined until PO is over. that way teams will be able to accurately determine when they are selecting and can make a list or be present according to their time of selection

keep the cap the same, the league is way more balanced now because of it imo, I think alot of good teams were sucking up alot of good players and weren't in any risk of losing those players. Once the HC started getting lowered, alot of other teams benefited and as a result the league became better balanced (the east/west differential got noticeably better).

The loto picks are the most important, I think it's fine having no clock during the lotto so people have time to think about the pick and scout etc (though scoutings easier now).

The problem before was the HC kept increasing so that just gave teams more room to suck up more players w/ no penalty. But yeah changing the HC won't fix or solve anything, it only opens up issues with the transitioning. At the end of the day, players are gonna be paid the same amount relative to each other so it really doesn't matter if HC is 90 mil or 60 mil.

Only 7 in real life making that much and the SC is 63 million...

I think there will be less in 2-3 years, there's still alot of players around from when the SC was higher. The league does need to go back to only allowing 4/5 year deals, there's alot of players that resign with 6 years. Deals may not be as expensive if commishes stayed better on top of that

May i purpose no trade if it takes a team over HC. only way you should be able to go over is, signing your own FA or signing FAs if you are under the roster limit of 12. Then you have 48hrs to fix.

Its always been 4 yrs non birds 5 yrs with birds, us simmers just slack off a lil with adjusting them after resignings though it should also be pointed out by a GM as well

Pretty stupid comparing the bigger contracts in this league to irl, league file is more inflated and has a ton more known stars compared to a irl current file. Not a huge fan of the restricted max contracts, sounds to me instead of GMs actually running their contract negotiations correctly that'd rather have a simmer wipe their ass for them.

Will be a bitch for simmers, GMs would need to list the correct max based on experience and tbh thats a guaranteed fuck up in the making, there will be mistakes and it will fall on the simmer.

Raise HC by 2-3 Mil. As far as CY year goes, Have a commitee vote on whether to keep/fire a GM, If the GM gets fired, the new GM should choose if he wants to go thru expansion or keep his ucrrent roster. If the GM stays, then its a forced expansion.

Unless creating activity (read: trading) is the ultimate reason for having CY, I think 4 years is too short. It's not long enough to rebuild through the draft.

Also, can't see reason for having SC violation - make it even harder to rebuild through draft.

It's not long enough to rebuild through the draft. 5 years to make playoffs is not hard at all whether you rebuild through draft or not. And SC voilation is good. If there was no floor talent would be horrible on certain teams
