Since it is valentine’s day, a day where the focus is love I will write this article focused on Gms and their love obsessions for man crushes on certain players. Majority of these will be current players on current teams who are either long term players on that team or just untouchable even if you gave your first born in the trade. I have to start this article off with a throw back.
The longest and possibly most successful love affair in this league is between SuperMaor23 and his favorite piece of chocolate, Derek Rose. Lets be honest, first off I think Super is the GM who most easily falls in love with players and over values them for extended periods of time. Examples would be Perry Jones, Sprewell, James Worthy, and honestly just anyone he drafts or signs via FA in general he may develop a certain love for. However Rose is a completely different story. If he could have somehow converted sim league Derrick Rose to Judaism he probably would have given his first round pick up for the next 15 seasons. Rose may be one of the GOATs in this sim league so the love is well warranted, but If you look back on the demise and fall of the wolves you can directly relate it to the decline in Rose’s play after he hit 33. It is never easy to keep the engine going if you don’t flip a player when the time is right. Rose and Super I guess were a match made in heaven and im surprised he did not create Derrick Rose JR as his create a player yet since he actually tried to have this child in real life.
They say every player has his price but that may not be true for our favorite robot, Walker. He has two guys on his roster who he is holding onto for dear life, one new and one old. The first is former #1 pick Alvin Adams. This guy looked pretty good coming out but for a number one pick I personally would consider him a bust. He was probably the pistons best selection out of all the guys who ended up failing miserably back when the pistons were tanking. Not sure how much interest Alvin has gauged over the years from GMs, I know I tried to get him a few times with no success. Hes been on the pistons for 11 seasons now and may be a lifer. The next guy on that team is his Jong-Hyun Lee. The guy looks good, but not amazing but he makes it very clear in his trade block that the former 11th overall pick will not leave Detroit as long as walker is in charge.
some may assume walker just likes the short shorts
Some girls like Diamonds and some like Pearls. getbeard clearly is in love with the latter. Earl Monroe when taken 5th took the league by storm. 4 gm’s probably regret passing on him. Thunder took Gervin he is no longer there, Bill Walton went next to the wizards but I think they would be much better off with Earl. The following pick was Walt to the pacers who ironically Getbeard has now. The next pick is a laughing matter when the raptors took Truck Robinson. The Pearl has dominated game in and game out as a scoring threat, but clearly does not like to pass. I do not see this duo guard leaving the Lakers for a very long time unless he is hit with a real nice offer.
The Atlanta Hawks have been known for misfortune since BANNAK took over, but one of the best things that ever happened to the franchise is when Bannak fell in love at first sight with a 6 foot 9 inch skinny brown haired boy from Kentucky. This has certainly developed into one of the leagues finest man crushes but you also have to consider how fucking good Issel is. He is the league’s best forward who put up 35 ppg in preseason. He does not slack on the boards or the defensive end either. Probably the second best white player this league will ever see behind Lord Nikola himself (bannaks former white jesus). The only way this guy is leaving Atlanta is by way of the FreeAgency train if he chooses to leave himself. But from what I hear Dan the man is loving his time in Atlanta and is awaiting next year’s freaknik eagerly

Thon Maker may be the longest tenured player in the league on one team. The former number one pick has been Basenoc’s stars and sun when it comes to play on the court. At 7 foot 3 inches this 14 year vet has boasted career averages of 24 ppg, 11.7 reb, 2.7 blocks while even developing a decent three point shot. You can tell Base gives no fucks about what others think about his love for Thon since he is paying the man 33 million dollars for this season. I think if he has a chance to resign him he will let him retire as the top Sacramento King to come through this league with no disrespect to Peja.
The warriors Gm @ducksrule loves to be disrespected by his lovers and that is exactly how he fell in love with 6 ft 2 Jalani Hewittt. First off who end’s their name with THREE of the same letter? Second this kid came into warriors camp started problems and ended up getting a vet shipped out. That is when we all knew that the Warriors GM had something for this kid. His skills are well worth it, putting up nearly 30 ppg on a rookie contract when he only put up 18 per game in college. It is very clear that Ducks would not trade him for anything. I do not even think if I offered Jordan that he would make a deal with me. If Jalani could somehow get the warriors out of the first round of the playoffs I feel the fans may fall in love with him just as the Gm already has.
Boston has been one of the worst cities to root for in the history of this league. Which pretty much opposite of real life. The Celtics GM blue has one guy who she has her eye on in particular. Her main man is DeAndre Ayton. Do not expect him to play in the opening game of the season because they are currently on a date somewhere. Ayton is loved by this GM for good reason too. This was her first big draft pick in the league. He actually panned out really well and has been an anchor and strong point through the best of times and the worst of times. Ayton has led the league in rebounding the past two years and can score 15+ ppg if needed but seems to like to take a complementary role on offense. Averaging almost three blocks a game on defense that is about all he does there. He probably is not the best post defender but people love blocks, especially blue. I would be surprised to see blue deal Ayton unless she was getting a really good deal just because of the novelty of having a player be your first draft pick ever and play out his entire career on your team.
Pretty funny first correction for Ayton on google is Jared Vandy
This years honorary Broken Heart award goes to entrapy who lost possibly two of his three favorite players in sim league history and got nothing in return. We all know how much this guy loved Irving but if we look at his recent years He also loved Jabari just as much. Parker is probably the best player ever to retire with out a single ring and that is probably Entrapy’s fault since he had him majority of his prime. The offseason couldn’t get worse after Parker retired right? Nope, Trey Mourning, the man he personally brought in off the streets and turned into a defensive machine with potentially to blow up like Deron Davis just packed his bags and said fuck off I am going to the Big Apple. Rumor is the Cavs GM has spent the last week locked in a room with a case of wine and a huge box of tissues.
Honorable Mentons:
Net-Stanley Johnson before trade
Clippers- Nique
Wizards- Bill Walton
Sixers *former GM*- Nicolas Tarlac
Hornet- Anyone who is not really that good
Bulls- Charlie Scott
Nuggets- Larry Bird once upon a time
