1. Rick Barry SF (HOU)
PreTC: B- B C- B- C B
After: B- B+ C- B C A
Richard Francis Dennis Barry III had a solid +2 jump and is showing A pot so he should see another nice TC next season. The man's sperm created 4 professional basketball players, 2 in the NBA. He has basketball in his veins. He only put up 12/4/2 in the CPU preseason but it looks like he wasn't an option since 3 others scored more ppg. He did put up 2 steals and a block while shooting .467/.720/.455
2. Willis Reed C (MIL)
PreTC: B- C- D+ C+ B+ F
After: B C- D+ C+ B+ C
Meh, Reed might not become a superstar big but he should have a long productive career. Already a B+ rebounder at age 21. His CPU-pre was solid going for 12/12/2 and a block. Only 1.4 turnovers in 29 minutes.
3. Nate Thurmond C (BKN)
PreTC: B- C- C B- B- A
After: C+ C- C B+ B A
A very nice TC for Thurmond. His inside went -1 but a +2 in defense and +1 in rebounding more than makes up for it. Still showing A potential. Nate looks like a beast. He'll probably be one of the best bigs in the league within a couple seasons. His preseason sim was good going for 11/9/1/1/1 on 47% shooting in 28 minutes. Nets had a weak record and 5 players putting up 10+ in the preseason sim so it's tough to analyze what he's really capable of. Can't wait to see what he does this season.
4. Gail Goodrich SG (PHX)
PreTC: B- B- C+ C+ C B
After: B- B C+ C+ C B
Too bad Gail didn't have a better TC. If he went +3 he would look like one of the most promising young players in the league. Still he should become a nice player, he's only 20 right now. Goodrich came off the bench in the Pre sim with Jordan at SF and Hezonja at SG. Interesting that the Suns drafted a SG when they already have Jordan and need a championship in the next couple seasons to keep him around. We'll see what happens.
5. Happy Hairston PF (PHI)
PreTC: B- C D C+ B C
After: B C D- C+ B B
+1 inside, -1 handles which kinda hurts since they were already at D. Happy still has some upside at only 20 but definitely won't be a stud big at this rate. He's a bit undersized for a PF at 6'7 236. Problem is with D- handles he probably couldn't do shit at SF. He did put up double digit points in the preseason CPU sim. 11.5/7/1.5/1 on 39% shooting in 24 minutes.
6. Joe Caldwell SG (IND)
PreTC: C B+ C B D B
After: C A- C B D B
Man, I've never seen a GM seem so interested and active then be gone within 2 days like Royal was. Anyways Caldwell looks like a 3 and D guy at the SG position. He can't rebound at all, can't score in the paint. His preseason sim was terrible. Starting at SG and playing 31 minutes he only put up 5/3/2 on 37% shooting. Looks like a bust. However the CPU ran Inside and fed Pettit and Mitchell the rock. We still haven't seen Caldwell in an Outside offense.
7. Tom Van Arsdale SG (BOS)
PreTC: C+ C+ C+ B- C- C
After: C+ B- C+ B- C- D
The first of the twins drafted, he went +1 Outside. Not a huge TC but still only 20 years old. Showing D potential now but that could be that random shit FBB does and it'll show B next year or something. The CPU only played Tom 12 mpg in preseason sim. It ran Pistol at SG and Walker at PG. Tom did shoot the ball with efficiency in his limited court time. He also looks turnover prone however.
8. Billy Cunningham PF (MIN)
PreTC: B- D C- C+ B- B
After: B D C- C+ C+ C
Ouch. +1 inside but -1 rebounding, that can't be good. I guess he could look solid after some camps since he can already score the rock inside. Minny had a great preseason sim for the second straight year. They ran Laimbeer as the starting PF though, Cunningham only played 15 mpg off the bench putting up 1.5/3.5 on 35% shooting. Ouch.
9. Jeff Mullins SF (UTA)
PreTC: C B- B- C+ C D
After: C B- C+ C+ C- D
Mullins went to shit. He definitely won't be making 3 ASGs like the real life version did. He didn't get burn in the CPU sim.
10. Dick Van Arsdale SG (BOS)
PreTC: C B+ C C+ D+ B
After: C B+ C+B- C- A
One of the best TCs this year. Dick already had a shooting stroke so to see him go +1 handles, +1 defense, +1 rebounding is a great sign. The +5 potential bonus both twins got by landing on the same team looks like it paid off. He didn't get any burn in the preseason CPU sim and is behind his brother in the rotation right now, but the way it looks he might actually become the better of the twins.
11. Paul Silas C (HOU)
PreTC: C+ D+ D+ B- C C
After: C+ D+ C- B- C C
Well, he went +1 handles. With B- defense and C rebounding at the C position, at age 23, Silas is a potential bust. He has decent handles for a big to go with his 7'0- 290 frame, so that might help him produce. C rebounding hurts though. He actually showed a small bit of hope in the pre-CPU sim dropping 9/7/2 on 47% shooting. Will be interesting to see if he gets camped at all this year and how he looks after.
12. Wayne Yates SF (CLE)
PreTC: C+ B- C+ C C A
After: B- B- C+ C+ C B
Solid. Yates looks like he could become one of the best players from this class after going +2. He can score from inside and outside at age 21 which is nice. Looks like an all around solid player. The CPU ran him at SG in the sim since Jabari is at SF. Yates put up 10 ppg in 25 minutes on .505/1.000/.556 and only turned it over once a game.
13. Freddie Crawford SG (SEA)
PreTC: C+ B- B- C+ D B
After: C+ B- B- C+ D B
The only lotto player who didn't move at all in TC. Better than going -2 like Mullins I guess. He's a C+ B- scorer at age 21 so he has some promise on the offensive side of the ball. The CPU ran him at PG which might make more sense since he has D rebounding and is under 200 pounds. He only played 14 minutes but looked alright. 4/3/1.5 on 46% shooting, 40% from 3.
PreTC: B- B C- B- C B
After: B- B+ C- B C A
