Again, most of the hard work in creating the templates and formulas were done by Daedalus. It took some time to figure out the inputting and the tables, but it finally materialized for me. The two THROWBACK articles retain the "Daedametrics" name as a gesture to Daedalus' work in putting together these metrics systems.
If you want to see where the formulas are from and want to understand some of it better, just look here:
HOLLINGER's FORMULAS
"Short introduction is in order as a lot of you were not around when I was here. What is Daedametrics? They are advanced basketball metrics for both team and individual performance. They give you multiple ways to evaluate your players and teams. They can also be used as a benchmark to compare yourself to the other teams in the league.
This edition will focus purely on individual players along with a "team" component in that I will highlight the best player for every team in the league in multiple categories. Having an "X is better than Y" argument? "
Mmmkk, now let's see some player metrics!
The Cavs had the right idea when they were running the league's fastest pace. They didn't have any great offensive sidekicks, and even if they did, why wouldn't you want Parker shooting all your shots anyway? That's insane efficiency for the most heavily used player in the league.
There's a lot of analysis you can draw from this data for your team. If you find anything interesting, feel free to post em down.
Team MVPS
For those who noticed that Joel Embid seems to be getting 20+ boards every single game, yeah he's the best rebounder in the league.
All-PER Teams
Compare this to FBB's All-League Teams. Who's right, whose wrong? I know basenoc will disagree with my All-PER lineup
All League First Team
C Joel Embiid Grizzlies (Brazilian)
PF De'Ron Davis Magic (shorty)
SF Larry Bird Nuggets (springs)
SG Tyonne Malone Magic (shorty)
PG Elfrid Payton Knicks (crazgyguy)
All League Second Team
C Dakari Johnson Nets (LakersGM1)
PF Thon Maker Kings (basenoc)
SF Malik Newman 76ers (SRG)
SG Junior Bridgeman Heat (ballislife)
PG Magic Johnson Clippers (nybaseball)
All League Third Team
C Moses Malone Kings (basenoc)
PF Dan Issel Hawks (Bannak)
SF Jabari Parker Cavaliers (entrapy)
SG Earl Monroe Lakers (getbeard)
PG Emmanuel Mudiay Lakers (getbeard)
I'll see if I can add some new categories to this segment. I don't know how Daedalus set up his tables so I'd need to figure that out first and foremost. And then I'll be able to brainstorm.
