He's finally here.
His airness.
Air Jordan.
MJ is fuckin coming.
Michael Jeffrey Jordan has arrived and all of the worst teams are praying they land that top pick and get him. Even if they do it'll be tough to keep him longer than 4 years since he will demand a trade if he doesn't ship up. Bundy is already calling out some DCs to make sure everyone is tanking legit. Teams are probably already shopping their best players so their scrubs can get more burn. We might end up seeing a veto this year. Things are happening. Activity is about to pick back up and butts will be hurt without a doubt. It's still early but these are the teams currently with the best chance at Mike.
The MJ Tankings
1. Phoenix Suns 7-30 (.189)
Just checked the DC threads and didn't find a Suns DC for any sim this season. Is Ellbee the Suns? Or did that uk guy still have em? I honestly have no idea. They're by far the worst team in the league and will for sure finish with worst record. I'm rooting for someone fresh to join the league and land MJ with their first ever draft pick. Or maybe bring back pistol and let him run with Mike! Assuming the Suns land the top pick anyways. They might have to settle for Nique or Worthy.
2. Toronto Raptors 15-32 (.319)
Raps actually aren't that bad at home at 11-13 but have gone 4-19 on the road. Their tank hit a road bump when they won 4 straight games starting day 43 but then they started sucking balls again after making a trade to dump some talent. This is pretty nuts because they have Reggie, Scottie, and Kemp currently. If they add Mike the universe might implode. The tank looks real going forward.
3. Washington Wizards 13-26 (.333)
Portland Trailblazers 13-26 (.333)
Two teams tied for third worst, winning a third of their games so far. Both 8-11 at home. Both have around a -5 differential. Both average right around 10 steals, 5 blocks, 50 boards and 44% shooting. Both second worst in their conference. Kinda creepy how similar their tanks have been so far on opposite sides of the league. Washington is 5-5 in their last 10 however, so they might be playing improved ball and could potentially climb the rankings in the next couple sims.
5. Minnesota Timberwolves 15-29 (.341)
Indiana Pacers 15-29 (.341)
These guys are basically right on pace with Washington and Portland. It's a tight race this year apart from Phoenix. Minny actually just added a small bit of talent by taking Willie Long from the Magic for free to get over the cap floor. He's nothing special but he does give them a bit of depth in the frontcourt which may help produce another couple wins by season's end. The Pacers have two guys putting up double doubles but have no SG and struggle to score, putting up only 90 a game. They'd be my pick to finish second worst in the league this year when it's all over. Also the team I'm guessing will land Mike. Mike will be a Pacer.
7. Utah Jazz 12-22 (.353)
Only 34 games played for the Jazz so far, which gives them an advantage in the tank department. They have more games left to possibly lose. Kinda weird seeing the Jazz here after they were dominating teams not too long ago. I remember getting pumped by the Jazz multiple times in the last few seasons. 8-10 at home, 4-12 on the road, pretty standard tanking record. They're not even that bad, they grab 55 boards a game which is great and have some 1 possession losses in the last few sims. They might improve their win % going forward.
8. Boston Celtics 15-25 (.375)
Like most of the teams on this list they can't rebound very well. They have a -3.9 differential which is bad but not that bad. Can't see the Cs making a run at a bottom 3 record. Mikan's playing nice ball, Pistol is playing very efficient ball in his 24 minutes. Celtics should have a good future coming up, but it will be Mikeless.
9. Brooklyn Nets 16-24 (.400)
So the Nets aren't that bad, winning 40% of their games and going 9-10 at home. But wait.. 3-7 in their last 10 which is worse than any team except Phoenix, Toronto, and Indy. They also gave up a whopping 150 points to Cleveland which is nearly impossible to do. They're playing bad. However they did beat the playoff bound Spurs by 20 and had 1 and 2 point losses this last sim alone. Kinda hard to tell what will happen with the Nets, but I'd say they do have a tiny chance at His Airness.
10. LA Clippers 18-25 (.419)
Clippers recently had a post saying they hoped for a shot at Mike, but that's only possible if they dump some significant talent. They're 10-10 at home and have more home games than road games left. Their offense is too good to tank like the others. Magic putting up a great year with great percentages and King putting up 23/8 as a SG which is pretty crazy. Thompson shooting over 50%.
