with so much young talent I need to keep rfa lol.... shuld just make stakes higher. like if said player is all start must match with protected draft pick. if said player is average as fuck. 500 cash ect. idk who would be judge but for me to keep a guy like raines i would have to move something more weighted ifhe decided not to resing

Voted 1, I dont know about the outta here part but I like it.
Dont understand how letting guys walk helps activity. I think it's just the opposite.
Instead of having no salaries to max guys it makes to more important to trade for them I'd think.

The thing Im not big on is that your basically guaranteed to keep the player on a 9 year contract

Keep it or modify it. Don't get rid of it.

Could perhaps make RFA contracts shorter, like a 2yr max or something

I can start bringing draft prospects in younger and rawer I guess Wouldn't mind that. Past few classes have had several rookies come in as allstars. That should be once every few years. Development by a GM should matter

Here's something I thought of that's inspired by the contract extension feature in the last league.
What if for RFAs, the star players will have a arbitrary happiness rating (decided by Bundy if he's up to it), that'll say how happy the player is with the franchise he's currently on. Maybe the player will demand a trade, or threaten to lower his potential by 20 if he's still stuck with the franchise after FA. So that way, a team can still retain their talent, but they'd need to do a good job of surrounding their players with a plan and a good future.

Naa don't really want a feature thats heavily influenced by a Commishes decision, shortys idea will only cause issues, not saying its a bad idea though.

You have to pay a first to RFA. That's a steep enough price imo if you want to keep it

Maybe just have a team option for the 5th and 6th years...
with the salaries for the 5th/6th yr being based on where the player was selected in the draft...
Top 5 - max 6 - 13 10,0000/11,000 14 - 20 7,500,000/8,500,000 21 - 29 5,000,000/6,000,000

Wouldn't that be almost like the two year max suggestion?

So let's say supermoar signs Jerry West, this improves activity how? You talk way too much shit for someone who hasnt done anything in this league man.

I don't think we should touch RFA tbh

I like the idea of if the player signs with another team, that the original team can get the player back, but the contract cut down to two years.

If we get rid of RFA we need some sort of mid season extension, a team can fall apart after a big time player walks. Happened to me with Dwight, if I didnt have Stone waiting on the bench I would Have been fucked.
