On the night of the 2008 Draft, a young man from the University of Memphis was sitting in the draft room, not knowing what to expect. It was then that commissioner BundyBastard stood up and said the very words, “With the first overall pick in the 2008 NBA Draft, The Minnesota Timberwolves select, Derrick Rose, from the University of Memphis.” Instantly, even though he might not have known it yet, A star was born. A star that would then shine throughout the league, in the years to come.

His first two years in the league were spent on a team assembled by legendary General Manager, rookieoftheyear. He was thrown into a backcourt which featured the then best player in the league, Brandon Roy. During the season, he averaged 13 Points, 6 Assists and 5 Rebounds in 28 minutes of action as a rookie. This was no where near his ceiling, but no one except for Derrick Rose, knew that. 2009 he again improved and averaged 15 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds a game while seeing his minutes increase to 31. 2010 brought a drastic change, a new gm, SuperMaor, was brought on and immediately he decided to build his team around Rose. With his new DC in tact, and superstars Elton Brand and Brandon Roy leading the way, the Wolves marched on to the 2010 NBA Finals to face the Miami Heat and they’re infamous “Chuck” offense. Game 1 proved to be a blowout as Rose’s wolves took care of the Heat, 124-87, Elton Brand lead the way with 29 points and 19 rebounds as Rose chipped in 7 assists. The next game was more of the same as the Wolves took care of business once again and defeated the Heat 125-89. This time it was Brandon Roy who exploded for 36 points, while Rose dished out 15 assists. Game 3 saw the Wolves lose by 8. Then they lost by 15 in game 4. When the series shifted home, the Wolves again shockingly lost. Derrick Rose took game 6 into his own hands and with his 16 Assists, came the W. But unfortunately, the Wolves lost the finals in 7 games.
Derrick Rose as the final horn sounded and his team lost the NBA finals
Derrick Rose told himself, that even though he was only 21 at the time, that he would never want to taste that defeat again. That coming 2011 Season, Derrick Rose exploded and averaged 18 Points, 10 assists, 5 Rebounds and 2 Steals a game, leading the Wolves to the 1st Seed and leading himself to his first Most Valuable Player Award. However, they lost to the Lakers in the second round.
In the summer of 2012, GM supermaor decided enough was enough, he then made a trade to upgrade his defense, so that the events of seasons prior were to never happen again. He traded Shane Battier, a 2013 unprotected First Round Pick and $200 for Tayshaun Prince, “The Man with the A outside and A defense.” As supermaor called him. In 2012, rose again averaged 18/10/5/2 and lead his team to the playoffs, were after a tough western conference battle, they marched on to the finals, were they were greeted by Kobe Bryant, Carmelo Anthony, and the Toronto Raptors. It was a hard fought series, but in the end. The Wolves came out on top in 6 games, with Derrick Rose taking his first ring and first Finals MVP.

It was then that in the offseason, Derrick Rose approached supermaor, they had a conversation that was not released to the public until today. We have here the transcript of said conversation. Derrick Rose approached the office of supermaor, he said, “Mr Maor, I know how much Brandon Roy and Elton Brand mean to you, But I just feel that after this season, we got them their ring, and as long as they are still here, that prohibits my growth, I want to be known as the greatest player in NBADSL history, and in order for me to do that, I need you to surround me with pieces that cater toward my game, not Brandon and Eltons.” Supermaor looked at him, put his head down and said, “Derrick, get out of my office, I will give you your answer soon.” Supermaor thought and thought and thought of what to do, it was then that he got a phone call from tyfreak, although an eastern conference counterpart, tyfreak was a dear friend and he asked the question, “What for Brandon Roy.” After much discussion, the trade of all trades occurred, where supermaor sent tyfreak Brandon Roy, Elton Brand and Quincy Douby for DeMarcus Cousins, Kobe Bryant, Jay Williams, Gerald Wallace, and Adam Morisson. At the press conference, supermaor had this to say, “There comes a time where you need to realize where your team is headed. I love Brandon Roy and all he did for me, but this is Rose's team now. I'm a huge Kobe fan and grew up watching him play so maybe that made it easier to trade roy. Either way, I lose a star but Upgrade my bench tremendously and upgrade my 4 spot with Elton Brand declining. Great dealing by tyfreak. “
Derrick Rose had his answer, it was now his team.
