Probably start making this an annual thing where Ill post any rule or league changes that come into affect for in upcoming season.
CY changes, from now on teams have 5 Seasons to reach the playoffs or reach 42 wins, if you are unsuccessful in doing this then you will be fired. A new GM will then go through an expansion draft and basically begin their run from scratch.
GMs who enter their 5th Season in the CY will be closely monitored with trading future 1sts, if you are at a stage where you mathematically have next to zero chance of avoiding being CYd then you will be banned from trading and will be basically fired straight away. Doing this allows more time for a new GM to get involved.
Im also considering introducing a rule for Season 14 that will be only allowing newly signed Free Agents to be traded after the ASW. FBB has an option that lets you know of this so it wouldn't be hard to monitor. Probably suck for some teams in a CY.
Thats it for now, more likely to be added
Discuss any suggestions here....

Against adding trade restrictions, but if you do, would that rule also apply to resigning guys via bird rights?

i like this CY rule. If you can't make playoffs in 5 seasons thats pretty bad. I've literally made playoffs while trying not to like 2 or 3 times.

If there was a way to maybe have to keep newly signed free agents through Day 30 or 40, that would be better. Trade deadline seems like an overkill

Not a fan of the trade restrictions idea though, mostly because talking trade is one of the things that keeps the league most active i feel like so that shouldn't be limited. Also like said above teams in CY could get semi-screwed by that rule if they have a very front loaded schedule or something

I'm glad you guys didn't start this rule last year. The East was really competitive last year. My team won 47 games and still didn't make the playoffs.

Birds are probably excluded, perhaps non birds signed over 8 million a Season fall into the category

Birds are probably excluded, perhaps non birds signed over 8 million a Season fall into the category This seems like a reasonable restriction. This way, we still have the ability to use a vet min or two to complete a trade. If you are really off by more than 8 mil, then just use your cap space and not sign someone new lol.
