2014-2015 GM of the Year Award
1) gotmelk0490 (34) - Clear winner this year. Spurs were the most dominant team in the regular season, and they even managed to field a non-PG MVP. That alone speaks volumes. Spurs made great trades to improve their roster.
2) saric9 (15) - Tiebreaker with shard24. Sixers wins tiebreaker due to record. Sixers went from barely making it out of CY, to leading the East from start to finish. Great season overall, and their success is well noted around the league. Nearly everyone gave at least a point or two towards the Sixers.
3) shard24(15) - The losing end of the tiebreaker (but whom got the final laugh by getting farther in the East playoffs), is Pacer GM Shard. If you considered where the Pacers were when he took over, to where it is now with PG, Barnes, and that solid young core, then you'll see that he did a great job skipping drafts and acquiring promising young players to build a contender that'll last years. Pacers improved big time this season, and they are set up to keep getting better.
My Votes:
1) Shard - Same reasons above.
2) gotmelk - Made good moves to really shore up that team. Same as above
3) SRG - Hawks clearly weren't in position to win games at the beginning of the season, and SRG pulled off some nice trades to put together a successful CY team. Their turnaround was a direct result of their GM's actions and he'd be higher on my list if this weren't such a strong year for GMOTY candidates
Others to receive votes:
bloop (9) - Bulls had a great season
SRG (8) - Gettin' out of that CY
flip (6) - Had a great year out west
Eastdog (3) - lol
Brazillian(2) - Hung in there in the West with a reshuffled roster
PoastingnToasting (2) - lead their division with their star trio
springs(1) - Great tanking season
swish (1) - Mavs had a nice year and stayed competitive out west.
shorty (1) - Someone liked the core I put together.

Record speaks for itself. Don't understand how a lot of people did those trades, but still took someone to offer those deals (I guess lol).
Goes without question, one of the biggest improvements of the year and was all due to moves he made - rose out from mediocrity

great growth from a young team, they surprised alot of people winning 58 games this year and the scary thing is they will only get better. Randolph maybe the only starter that leaves and he can replace him with Vala who's been doing well off the bench. Curry and Lopez are locked up for another 2 years atleast and they have role players like Chandler and Sanders that can help the 3 I mentioned before. The league needs to stop sleeping on this team, they are the real deal.
His Sixers stayed on top of the conference from start to finish.

will admit, wasn't a fan of either the PG deal or Kobe deal, but both deals seemed to work for Indiana and they improved alot this season. At this stage, they're still a pretender, but they're working their way to contention, but they won't contend in time for Kobe to win a ring unless he plays 2 or more years longer then his contract (which is expiring).
Great turnaround from a team that didn't seem like it was going anywhere.
