1: Prime Miami Heat Chuck or Cavs Chuck, which was better?
Lakers: Gotta go primetime Heat. Williams, Redd, Shard if I remember correctly. All were lights out for a few year stretch. The Cavs need to continue to dominate for another couple seasons before they can put themselves in that class, but Kyrie has the potential to lead them to that.
Grizzlies: I would have to say the Cavs perfected it. Dirk at PF… Butler putting up random 40 ppg and them not even being the best with A young Irving putting up 20+ a game shooting over 400% from three being paid less then 4 mil.
Cavaliers: Cavaliers: Easily the Heat Chuck is the better Chuck. They had three lights out shooters who can put up 20 points in any given night. To add to that, they had two amazing big men to get the offensive rebounds to pass it back out to their shooters. If Dirk and Timmy were in their primes then the answer would probably different.
Bulls- I enjoyed the Miami Heat chuck more because of how erratic and unpredictable it was, but the Cavs Chuck was definitely better. Their offense was just potent and could score at will. They rarely if ever took a game off and it just seemed like their team gelled together perfectly.
Bucks: Cavs won the title in a strong season around the league (sans Pacific, which has blown for a while).
76ers: As I don’t really know prime Miami Heat… I will have to say Cavs… Great team with outstanding Kyrie put together with some great shooters looks like a good team to me. Now as I don't know who was in prime Heat team I am not really the one to judge this situation tbh.
Warriors: Cavs
2: Reflect back on last season, how did you feel about last year and what can you do this season to get better?
Lakers: Well, I wanted to tank, signed some guys that I intended to trade off to contenders or wannabe contenders for pieces, but never really got any half decent offers. I thought my team was good enough to make some noise despite that not being my original intention. Considering I didn't even wanna win, winning the division isn't too bad I guess, even if it is the worst division ever.
Grizzlies: Last year was a good season for the team. We fell off a little from our 62 win season, however it was a huge disappointment with wade out for playoffs. I think we could have made a run. I have a pending trade bringing in a youth shot blocker in Noel that can step my D up. With Paul returning anything is possible
Cavaliers: I am very very pleased with the performance last season. Not only did the team finally win it all but I also beat shorty in 7 games in the process. As for this season, the team needs to show up better in the regular season. Guys like Klay needs to step up as well.
Bulls- It was the least confident I felt about the Bulls since I took them over. I thought Beverely needed a year or two to get better and thought Randolph regressed after TC. To have a better season I needed to not play the Raptors in the playoffs. Our team seemed to click heading into the playoffs, but like the past 3 seasons the Raptors ended that.
Bucks: We performed admirably. Sadly we didn't win the title but we're young and ready.
76ers: Last year was very stressful for my team as you know I was in my CY so I kind of needed to win and 1st sim was good then it went to bad. Fortunately I made a great move sacrificing Burke bringing in mr. Redd. After that I made it. Barely. After a win against Grizzlies 2 games before the end of the season. What can I do this year? Hopefully I can make playoffs. Made two great signings in the FA with Wilson Chandler and Zachary Randolph. Next move? I need better SG then Waiters is as I don’t have 2-3 seasons to wait for him to reach his full potential. So my next move is to try to move Waiters together with someone like Sanders or Randolph in order to get good PG / SG that can start for my team. If I do that I think I have a good chance to get into the playoffs.
Warriors: Last season my activity was very limited due to my internet access but I an on being more active so hopefully that will help turn things around
3: Who were you surprised by last season, for better or for worse
Lakers: Hmm these are always the tough questions. I think the Suns surprised me a bit, thought they would be much better than they were. The Spurs were fuckin awful somehow for most of the season which was also pretty shocking with their stacked squad, but it looked like the may have figured it out towards the end.
Grizzlies: The pistons turned things around real quick and so did flips rockets. Flip went from borderline lotto to the 2 seed. Def for the better for both of them. I feel the spurs disappointed regular season. One of the best on paper rosters ive seen. But in the playoffs they made a run
Cavaliers: Both the Grizz and TWolves surprised me. They had lackluster seasons after just being a season away from being the cream of the crop of the Western Conference (Wolves were even the defending champions). The ousting in the first round culminated their disappointing season.
Bulls- the Spurs. They had a good run in the playoffs, but their roster is way better than a below 50 win team. It seems like it's the same thing with the Spurs each season. A loaded roster that underachieves. Maybe this is the year they finally put it all together for a full season.
Bucks: Cleveland honestly. I doubted their outside offense staying hot against my defense, and they dis more than enough to bury us.
76ers: I was mostly surprized by the Spurs. They had great team but no real PG and knowing how much PG means in this game… Well in the playoffs it kinda turned out quite good I guess before then it was mostly a negative surprise. So it kinda went from bad to good. I was also surprised by the Magic. When they traded me Redd I thought they’d drop a bit as Redd scored 20+ points for them but they kinda stayed the same or at least they competed on high level!
Warriors: better we did a lot better than i expected
4: Who's your early prediction for ROTY?
Lakers: MITCH MCGARY is the sleeper pick. But seriously I think it might be Dante Exum. The Nuggets dont look much improved and look at the numbers MKG was able to put up on them last year. Exum is a PG so he'll get tons of touches on a team that can't score aside from 2 players. Plus dat FBB PG love.
grizzlies: Noah on the bulls. Hes a big guy with out much responsibility on his hands. He can play the 3 and just do what he has to do with no pressure. Smart or Embid could make a run too since their teams have less options and they can just pad stats.
Cavaliers: This is tough but I will go with Embiid. He has the best chance to shine out of all the young guys on that Clipper team. I'm positive that he'll put up solid numbers on his way to winning the award.
Bulls- Joel Embiid. I think he was picked on a young team that will allow him free reign down low. He should be a top 3 option that is allowed to go through his growing pains with little to no repercussions.
Bucks: Believe it or not I'm going with Nik Stauskus.
76ers: Embiid looks like a double-double guy already, Smart and Exum also. Because Exum is probably gonna be 2nd option on Nuggets team with only Kidd-Gilchist as the other guy who can score I can see him being ROTY. If FBB looks only at the figures He’s got no real competition. I’ll also take a closer look at the development of you know who : D Yup he’s on Celtics team!
Warriors: Embiid
5: This year draft class looks pretty strong this season with sophomore Andrew Wiggins entering the draft, are you hopeful to get him or any other player in the draft or are you just competing for the playoffs and beyond?
Lakers: #WeWantWiggins. I dont really know who else will be in the draft class tbh so I'm strictly tanking for wiggins at this point.
Grizzlies: my pick is top 5 protected to the raptors. So if my team somehow sucked that much or I got lucky I would pray to get him alteast. But with my current roster I don’t think ill miss the playoffs. If I don’t get top 5 I wont have a pick once again.
Cavaliers: I am not hopeful to get any top talent in the draft unless I decide to blow it up in the middle of the season.
Bulls- I was hoping Wiggins came into this class, but my dreams were shot down right before the draft. I think with LeBron it makes it almost impossible to try and get a lotto pick. I expect our team to make the playoffs.
Bucks: We're looking strongly into positioning for Maple Jordan, yes.
76ers: Off course I’d like to add Wiggins to my team but hopefully I can compete in the next year and beyond. So don’t really think I can get him. Looks like some teams are going to tank this season so even if I don’t make playoffs it’ll be pick around 10 when most good guys are gone already so… Don’t have big expectations from this draft.
Warriors: Playoffs and beyond
6: Who do you think will surprise this year, for better or for worse?
Lakers: Sleeper pick for the year is the 76ers. They sneakily have assembled a nice core. They have good big men, and depth down there as well. They have there scorer in Curry. Fairly complete team who might just be a few pieces away from being pretty competitive.
Grizzlies: Team wise? Not sure I think its pretty set in stone who is going to compete and who will suck. I think some players will over perform thought. Hoping Yao doenst have a bad TC and will be the best player for his age in the game. I also feel it’s a big beak out for Mclemore on the Heat.
Cavaliers: Miami Heat. This team could finally return to the playoffs after a couple of seasons. And if their young guys especially Anthony Davis step up then the league better watch out. They still have Deron to take up much of the scoring load and provide veteran presence as well.
Bulls- Clippers. I think they're very young but I can see them getting into the playoffs as the 8th seed. Parker should have a great TC and their team played tough throughout the end of the season.
Bucks: I think we'll see a lot of the same but Denver might fail in re-tanking.
76ers: Hopefully Sixers can surprise this year. But I think biggest surprise of this year will be the Heat. They had so much luck in draft after winning next year they got Davis who’s becoming a great center so they could be a real contender this year… For the negative ones… Looks like Warriors are going to be one but after expansion I think you kind of have to expect that right?
Warriors: Hopefully the warriors
7: Finals prediction.
Lakers: I'm leaning towards Spurs vs. Bucks with Bucks taking it in 6 games. Westbrook and Wade are gonna be a lot to handle.
Grizzlies: Bulls need to finally make it back, with lebron a maturing favors and a new rookie on deck I think they have the fire power finally. If they don’t make it the Bucks will surely return. However in the West its wide open between myself, the spurs, the wolves and Mavs. The Jazz and Flip’s rockets should be good too. But in the end I think the Mavs are back in it if they play their cards right. I would take the bulls over the mavs in that scenario. But would give the Mavs the edge over the Bucks
Cavaliers: The Bucks will face a hungry Dwight Howard leading the Mavericks in the Finals this year. The West will unfortunately fall short again against the East.
Bulls- Raptors vs. Timberwolves. A rematch with the Raptors winning another title and proving that they got the better end of that trade.
Bucks: Milwaukee beats Houston in 7.
76ers: Tough one. Bucks over Spurs. Maybe. If Spurs trade for a better PG then I have them wining if not it goes to Bucks imo. Westbrick is outstanding also Sergio Ibaka (yeah that’s right Sergio as he’s Spanish hahahah )
Warriors: 76ers vs warriors
8a (for entrapy) You rebuilt the Cavs into a contender pretty quickly, who do you credit most for getting you so far so quickly?
Cavaliers: Easily Kyrie Irving. Despite him being a 20 year old, he has shown maturity in the playoffs and led us to several playoff victories and eventually the championship.
8b (for saric and eastdog) teams can do great things and also make mistakes, what were some things you did well in the past 4 seasons and what were some mistakes you may have made in the past that you won't do so you don't end up in CY/expansion again?
76ers: Biggest mistake I made was relying strictly on TC and FA and draft. So hopefully not going to do that as I don’t have luck with drafts and even if I get something good at FA players gets RFA’d. Like Hickson I think 3 seasons ago and Jennings this year. Also I learned that if I don’t feel like trade will help my team I won’t accept the deal even if I get great player in return. No matter how persistent other GM is. Hopefully my team developed enough this 4 years so I have a nice core so expansion wont happen again. Fingers crossed.
Warriors: We had two decent seasons we nearly made the playoffs twice our team d really killed us so I hope to assemble a better defensive minded team
Lakers: Gotta go primetime Heat. Williams, Redd, Shard if I remember correctly. All were lights out for a few year stretch. The Cavs need to continue to dominate for another couple seasons before they can put themselves in that class, but Kyrie has the potential to lead them to that.
