we haven't had as bad of problem concerning the draft then I would say the past two seasons, normally people are pretty good at getting picks in, but these past two drafts have taken some time. I have heard people say that the draft is a good way to slow things down in this SL, and while I can see from that perspective, we can always just have days where there's no sims and people can talk trade or whatever.
Simply telling people to pm list isn't good enough, so we got to do something that won't result in a ton of autos some ideas
time limits
no scouting during the draft, all scouting needs to be done before the draft starts (maybe a little tricky in this league)
no holding up the league because you might get a trade done (meaning no going over the time limit if there is one) deal needs to be done before your time limit runs out.
other ideas welcomed

I think we need to have scouting during the draft.
1) I think fines for not sending in a list/not being on during the draft is appropriate though.
2) Enforce the time limit

i think this league to seperate draft from playoff. idk but its to much work for the simmer, cause he has to do play offs and run the draft at the same time. if we seperate the draft from the playoff sim it can be easier and simple and less stressfull. giving a time limit for draft pick offline and online would be easier and faster.
my opinion ask them for a draft list no matter what pick they are, if they dont fined then 300-400$. is better and easier for everyone. and it wont be a hassel
a time limit for offline should be by 1-2hrs and online 30mins-1hr shoul be fair enough

just put a time limit. somewhere between 1 hour - 2 hour when gm is offline, and a 30 minutes when they are online. if they don't pick by then give them best available or something

well from my experience of doing the draft/playoffs, it's not very stressful at all you really just sim ahead to the offseason hit sim loto or whatever have the order and keep things up to date from there. It's not that much different from simming the playoffs and then going through the draft, it gives people something to do and talk about while waiting for the playoffs/offseason.
Either way you do it, there's going to be some waiting during the draft, it's just how much waiting that we're deciding right now, also Bundy has other people here that can help him out with the draft if needed (Flip and I along with a few others) something not every commish has.

What if for picks 1-5 scouts have to be in by a certain time say before playoff end.... 5-10 by the 5th pick and then past that by the 10th pick.... Would allow people to kind of see who will be here. Keep the ball rolling along also

Scouting is pretty useful and for the most part quick unless the GM takes 20+ minutes just sending a list Making a huge pick scouting is needed and can't be done before bc u don't want to spend 200 on a player who won't be there for u. imo, that's a sacrifice that's going to have to be made because scouts really slow down the league I would propose having all scouts done before the draft as well as lowering the amount to $100 so you can do more scouts if you want and there's also less money you risk doing that. |
