For those of you who aren't familiar with how voting and CheckIn works: Checking In Literally just post "here" in this thread and you're good. Voting Here are the rules: - You can't vote for yourself - You must send in a LIST of 3 GMs in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place by Private Messaging me. * A 1st place vote gets +3, 2nd gets +2, and 3rd gets +1. I tally up all the points for each person and come up with a 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place. - You can vote now, and the deadline is when the Finals start. I can be lenient with this, but if I've already started counting up the votes, then it'll be too late for me to count your votes. Just send em in ASAP. - You MUST have a brief description next to each GM whom you vote for in your list that explains why you are giving this GM a 1st place vote or a 2nd place vote. - Vote for GMs based on these criteria * The GM's actions starting from the offseason to the end of the season (not including playoffs. This is a regular season award) * How well the GM has accomplished their goal whether that's to win, rebuild, or tank. Winning is always the most important, but you can't overlook the super tankers either * Also consider a GM's activity and contributions they've made to the forum Example of a correct vote: 1) Kimchi - Kimchi is a good GM because his team won the most games, and the addition of Little Ben and Ryan the "Commercial Plane" Smith were great additions. 2) SomeSpecificGal - Brought in yet another defense, rebounding, old-school player to add to the impressive army of defense and inside play. The team finished #1 in the conference. 3) PlayerofTheWeek - PlayerofTheWeek is my 3rd place vote because he has amassed an army of non-lotto picks and they are panning out very well. He also brought in talented players to help the team win. Winners - As previously stated, I tally up all the points for each GM, and come up with an overall 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place winner. 1st place gets +3 attribute points, 2nd gets +2, and 3rd gets +1. - This competition needs at a bare minimum of 11 VALID votes or the competition will not count and nobody gets points. If you want to showcase why you deserve to get some GMOTY votes from others, you may do so in this thread. Be sure to highlight what your goal was and what you did to try and accomplish that. I hope that covers everything. Please remind me if I left some detail out. And while this has never been an concern, just so nobody is blindsided or confused, I always get a +5 on TOP of what I can potentially earn if I finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for hosting the GMOTY and the GM Check-In every single season. It was the agreement Bundy put out waaaay back in the last league when a GMOTY and Check-In job was needed. The job was grandfathered over in this league. Call it a perk for having been around here for a while . Happy voting. Same criteria as last season. We have fewer GMs and activity this time around so we probably won't get 20+ votes like last season, but we can still have a great turnout. As usual, if you feel like you have a good case, post it here.

Check in. --------------------- I think I am a great candidate for GM of the Year. The Indiana Pacers lost Ron Artest, Kevin Garnett and Tyson Chandler from last season's team - all but two of our players (Lopez/Sene) were Free Agents last off-season... yet around the only 2 starters left (Parker/Prince) we built a team that won 59 games this season (15 more than last season! An unprecedented thing for a team that lost THREE players of that level), and allowed Tony Parker to blossom into an MVP. Allowed 22yo Robin Lopez to become a NBA Soph team center. Allowed 22yo Mouhamed Sene to step up to making the All D 2nd team. Mickael Pietrus developed into one of the better all-round SGs in the league. The roster I have costs under $45.5 million a year, and is better than teams with almost 40 million over that. The successes my team's enjoyed were mirrored in four of my five FA's re-signing with my team, most at less money than they'd get on the open market. Tony Parker's contract is very cost-efficient, and even with the team we have - we still have room to add further pieces (next season - even with the new contracts - my team will have 12 players signed in at LESS than this year's 45.5 million!!!). Given I had no pick in this year's draft (it went to Atlanta in the KG trade), my goal was to remain competitive. I did that by carefully analyzing what I thought my team had, and in last season's FA, I pursued depth over superstars, and with particular types of players in mind we chased the guys we wanted. Yes, we lost Ron Artest - Mickael Pietrus was initially offered a contract with me thinking he'd be a back-up... but the end result was better - I believe - than it would have been with Ron still wearing a Pacer uniform. On the boards, I am active and helpful. I ran the Off-Season Round Table at the last minute when no-one wanted to do it, and wrote one of the only 2 articles that appeared this season (the piece on teams that'll experience change this off-season). I think I deserve consideration...

I drafted two straight ROYs, I know one wouldn't be considered for this year but the feat together is impressive. Utilized my cap space to trade for Jermaine O'Neal and claim Foster off waivers without sacrificing a lot of youth or long term salary. Went from 3rd worst team to a playoff team. All this, and I'll have over $40 mil in cap space due to moves in the past year to make a splash this upcoming free agency. Also drafted Harden, albeit that was an easy choice for me.

Vote for me for gm of the year because: I was able to move an older declining Kobe for a 19 year old future piece in Cousins I was able to aquire some young pieces and draft picks for Jason Terry I was able to put my team into a quick rebuild mode with out tanking leaving my team next year with only around 6 Mil on the books for cousins and augustine and the rest to spend in FA For being very active and quick to respond in messages(idk if that matters) My activity from last season has increased greatly now that I understand how to work things (lol last season was my first ever on NBADSL)

Made a good Rebuild package in nabbing 3 rookies who are leading my team in SF Summers 18 points a game, PF Griffin 15/8, and PG Darren Collison 15/4/6 and I have the 6th pick as well.... But you don't have to vote for me.
