CBA: New changes to the 2022 CBA

We are currently in the 2021 Season, the below changes will take into effect once the 2022 Offseason begins, so that's not the forthcoming Offseason, but the Offseason after that.

Soft Cap Plan + Hard Cap Plan  (The year names indicate the START of that season. So 2022 would be start of next offseason)

2022: 58,000,000 SC    87,000,000 HC
2023: 58,000,000 SC    87,000,000 HC
2024: 59,000,000 SC   88,000,000 HC
2025: 59,000,000 SC   88,000,000 HC
2026: 60,000,000 SC   89,000,000 HC
2027: 60,000,000 SC   89,000,000 HC

- SC and HC increase similarly

- Cap Floor:

2022: 40,000,000
2025: 43,000,000
2026: 43,000,000
2027: 43,000,000


Amnesty Clause

The 2023 Season will be the 20th of the league, and to celebrate each GM will have the opportunity to active an Amnesty Clause, this will be a one off feature and is unlikely to be used again in the league. This can only be activated during the 2023 Offseason, it CAN NOT be banked or traded. If you decide to activate this clause and Amnesty a player on your roster, you will NOT be able to have this player on your roster for a min 3 years. This means you can not offer them a contract during an FA period nor acquire their services via trade. Remember, this is for the 2023 Season, not the 2022 Season.



Restricted Free Agency

In the 2022 Season the cost to RFA a player that qualifies for Restricted Free Agency will raise from $300 to $500, same rules apply, if you do not have the cash to RFA your player then his classified as an unrestricted FA.



Waivers being allowed to be traded

In the 2022 Season, the league will lift its rule regarding waivers being traded, there will be a window between Days 1 and the ASW where waivers WILL be allowed to be claimed AND traded, however, once the ASW is simmed waivers will not be allowed to be dealt. This will be a test run for the rule, it will be closely monitored and if its found to be used in an unfairly manner then its very likely to be removed and the original rule will be reintroduced.

Cool. I propose a waived player can't be traded for picks though. Like the team who ranked or sucked last year can't use it to gain assets to re tank. Example thinder suck and claimNoel with priority 1. Only reason he was waived was cap issues. He's a pretty damn good player. Thunder can use him but to immediately flip him for 2 firsts or a lotyo first forcing him to tank again? Not a fan. Would make waiver wire too over powered

Not a fan at all of the waiver trading. Think it's 99% likely it gets abused. If you have waiver priority why wouldn't you claim every talented player you can pick under the HC? Flipping nothing for assets is just an intelligent thing to do.

Missed that one.

If you take on a bad deal you should be liable for it.

Only exemption maybe would be for a new GM that got left with a pitiful roster or something.

Agreed and think this is true. Will probably get abused. 
Although I don't mind as much because it increases overall trade activity / opportunities, which I like.

Maybe a cap on amnesty? $12 mil limit for example?
