Most of you know the drill already on what to do so just go ahead and Check In in this thread and don't forget to PM me your votes if you want the +2 attribute points. For those of you who aren't familiar with how voting and CheckIn works: Checking InLiterally just post "here" in this thread and you're good. VotingHere are the rules: - You can't vote for yourself - You must send in a LIST of 3 GMs in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place by Private Messaging me. * A 1st place vote gets +3, 2nd gets +2, and 3rd gets +1. I tally up all the points for each person and come up with a 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place. - You can vote now, and the deadline is when the Finals start. I can be lenient with this, but if I've already started counting up the votes, then it'll be too late for me to count your votes. Just send em in ASAP. - You MUST have a brief description next to each GM whom you vote for in your list that explains why you are giving this GM a 1st place vote or a 2nd place vote. - Vote for GMs based on these criteria * The GM's actions starting from the offseason to the end of the season (not including playoffs. This is a regular season award) * How well the GM has accomplished their goal whether that's to win, rebuild, or tank. Winning is always the most important, but you can't overlook the super tankers either * Also consider a GM's activity and contributions they've made to the forumExample of a correct vote: 1) Kimchi - Kimchi is a good GM because his team won the most games, and the addition of Little Ben and Ryan the "Commercial Plane" Smith were great additions. 2) SomeSpecificGal - Brought in yet another defense, rebounding, old-school player to add to the impressive army of defense and inside play. The team finished #1 in the conference. 3) PlayerofTheWeek - PlayerofTheWeek is my 3rd place vote because he has amassed an army of non-lotto picks and they are panning out very well. He also brought in talented players to help the team win. Winners- As previously stated, I tally up all the points for each GM, and come up with an overall 1st place, 2nd place, and 3rd place winner. 1st place gets +3 attribute points, 2nd gets +2, and 3rd gets +1. - This competition needs at a bare minimum of 11 VALID votes or the competition will not count and nobody gets points. If you want to showcase why you deserve to get some GMOTY votes from others, you may do so in this thread. Be sure to highlight what your goal was and what you did to try and accomplish that.I hope that covers everything. Please remind me if I left some detail out. And while this has never been an concern, just so nobody is blindsided or confused, I always get a +5 on TOP of what I can potentially earn if I finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd for hosting the GMOTY and the GM Check-In every single season. It was the agreement Bundy put out waaaay back in the last league when a GMOTY and Check-In job was needed. The job was grandfathered over in this league. Call it a perk for having been around here for a while . Happy voting. Same criteria as last season. We have fewer GMs and activity this time around so we probably won't get 20+ votes like last season, but we can still have a great turnout. As usual, if you feel like you have a good case, post it here.

Here's why you should vote for Shorty of the Magic:
- We lost a superstar in Dirk (who has CARRIED the Pistons btw) for nothing, and lost our starting PG Alvin Williams (remember that stud?) for zip, and yet we have 53 wins this season as compared to 50 wins last season (+3 in wins) - Key acquisitions of Shawn Marion, and a PLETHORA of role players helped make us the 2nd seed in the East. This is an improvement over the 4th seed last season. - Lost starting AS Point Guard Steve Francis for 22 games this season, and had a host of other nagging injuries, and yet we still finish 2nd. - Vast improvements in defense and rebounding from last season. - Other people's activity rise and fall. But I'm still here as usual.

Here. Probably not gonna vote this year, I wasn't really a part of the league enough to voice a worthy opinion.

Here. Ill be brief as to why I think I deserve a few votes(though understand I probably shouldn't win)- I don't remember my exact wins total from last year but doubled the amount of wins and brought in key players such as arenas joe Johnson and jermaine o'neal to do so. Also going from a high lottery team facing CY and making the playoffs in that dirty dirty west is no easy task, which I was able to pull off and only fell short of having some home court advantage in the playoffs by a tough sim over the last 20 days.

Check in. So... my GMing this season. Team gutted by injuries that happened incessantly throughout the season. Seemed that every sim, there was a Pacer injured, including having lost Ron Artest for around 7-8 weeks total. Yet we still managed to get 6th spot in a very competitive East, and have been able to get completely healthy (touch wood!) at the right time of the season (ok... I admit that this is just luck!). We've done well, even in the face of adversity in the form of FBB taking a whack at my team every sim.
I'm very active on the boards, and in a time where there seem to be a lot of managers who are flagging somewhat, I've been active here just about every single day.

10 votes...
In the past, I've let that through, but I feel like we can do better than that... I'll extend the voting period until when resignings are done. Remember, you should evaluate a GM's performance based on their regular season, and not their playoff. The GMOTY award has, and still is, a regular season award.

His activity has never been great, but he usually checks in at least.
