disclaimer: I'm not tryna one up super's recent article, just braz's, I have thought of this a few days ago but need time off work to do it. Hope you all enjoy it
Seattle WA------ This will be the 37th season in the NBADSL, and with that comes a lot of history. I will attempt to recount a majority of the history in this article. Today you will see a ranking of all 30 teams (shut up there's 30). These teams will be ranked primarily by the number of championships they have won, but also will be based on their overall success as a franchise. Unlike an article some random Brazilian dude made a few years ago, GM's of these teams shouldn't take this too personally and instead be challenged by it in hopes of moving up (or just look at where they are ranked, say fuck this random guy, hit the back button and never look at it again). Given that the Blazers are the 17th team to have won atleast one or more championships, there are 13 teams that have yet to win a championship. We will take a look at these 13 first
The Teams that need more fans to wear smelly t-shirts
#30: New Orleans Pelicans (shut up, shut up, shut up)
Championships/Finals: 0/0
Playoff appearances: 0
Overall regular season success:0-0
Overall post season success: 0-0
Best record: 0-0
Worst record: 0-0
GM's (bold are GM's who won atleast one ring): N/A
Summary: They are the definition of perfection, they are an anomaly among the league as the only team to win 100% of the games they played but have also lost every game they have played. They have never had an all star and have never had a championship, yet the team is so perfect neither one of those things would matter. The coaches, players and management are on the same blank paper that they later grab a pen and write beautiful poetry. This team is..........
Aw fuck it, this team is shit, no one likes the fucking Pelicans or the shit they leave on cars (or are those seagulls?). Let's all just move the fuck on so we can hurry up and make fun of itty
anyways.......
29: Golden State Warriors
Championships/Finals:
0/0
Playoff appearances: 15
Overall regular season success: 1357-1702 (44.4%)
Overall post season success:
29-65 (30.9%)
Best record:
2018 Golden State Warriors (ducksrule) 53-29
Worst record:
2014 Golden State Warriors (eastdog) 14-68
GM's (bold are GM's who won atleast one ring):
chriskamanhispants,eastdog,ducksrule
Summary:
Well I'm sure you can see above that this team has been pretty awful minus that 53-29 season. They are the worst regular season team in league history thus far as well as the worst playoff team in league history. That alone gives them the 29th spot. To make matters worse for this franchise they are the only franchise that had a GM fired for incompetence. The GM would make what is now seen as the worst trade in nbadsl history. Dealing the unanimous #1 pick Andrew Wiggins for the 9th pick in the draft, Shabazz Muhammad and Jared Sullinger. The trade was frowned on among most of the league because it was a $1 for a 4 quarters trade in the worst possible way. The GM's logic was "3 is better then 1, so the 3 are better". This trade would help the Lakers win a championship in 2018 and Wiggins became as predicted one of the best players in the league.
Still the Warriors have had great players such as Jelani Hewitt who was one of the top scorers in the league as a PG, but averaged so many turnovers (as high as about 7 turnovers a game) that he eventually faded out of the league and became forgotten pretty quickly. Today, the Warriors continue their unphenomenal play at 13-26 and are only currently relying on a 26 year old Latrell Sprewell to carry them, though he is averaging 26.4 a game only good percentages, him and Bradley are the only two players they currently have to build around, we'll see if they can ever crawl out of the bottom of the league here, it will take alot.
28: Philadelphia 76ers
Championships/Finals: 1/1
Playoff appearances:
12
Overall regular season success:
1367-1696 (44.6%)
Overall post season success:
56-62 (47.5%)
Best record:
2014 Philadephia 76ers (saric) 58-24
Worst record:
2028 Philadelphia 76ers (pistol) 18-64 2022 Philadelphia 76ers (SRG) 18-64
GM's (bold are GM's who won atleast one ring): Crunch, crazyguy, saric,SRG,Bundy, pistolpete, cfin,ROTY,Captian Obvious, mike
Summary: I'm actually surprised I'm doing a championship team already, but the team has been so bad a majority of these seasons and that championship was so uninspiring (the team was literally built through the draft, almost no FA or trade movement from them) that they may as well be slotted here. From 2005 to the beginning of the 2035 season the team had only played in 6 playoff series (one of them obviously led to a ring) and went almost a decade without even making the playoffs at all (of course I was running the team for half of the time, fuck those 41-41 seasons) for comparisons sake the Warriors had 10 playoff games during that same span, but also went a decade without a playoff appearance. The franchise has been rather horrid, but of course they had their share of greats such as Nicolas Tarlac, Nicolas Tarlac, Nicolas Tarlac and of course the greatest of all time player, Nicolas Tarlac. To this day Nicolas Tarlac leads the NBA in jersey's sold among former and current players and has been doing so ever since he started wearing the 76er jersey.
However, the 76ers have started making serious strides to not only put that awful past behind but have tried to become a premier franchise being in the upper 40's to low 50's in wins 4 out of the past 5 completed seasons and hoping to win a more inspiring championship.......... Well they were, but a few GM changes and a recent trade of stud Kobe Paras has sort of gotten the 76ers back to where they once were before. But, it could just be temporary. One thing that needs to be mentioned is the 76ers need to stop going through GM's like a fat kid eating candy. Having ten different GM's running these teams does hurt the team a bit. Maybe mike can create some stability in Philly.
27: Brooklyn Nets
Championships/Finals:
0/0
Playoff appearances: 14
Overall regular season success:
1421-1644 (46.4%)
Overall post season success:

Worst record:2028 Brooklyn Nets (LakersGM) 14-68
GM's (bold are GM's who won atleast one ring):
Redrum, LakersGM1
Summary: well if you thought the Hornets (who surprisingly haven't been seen yet) were good at avoiding CY there was a time where the Nets were the team that always avoided CY by the skin of their teeth, though the GM that ran them eventually got CY'd out of the league the Nets had 3 sets of seasons where they missed the playoffs atleast 3 or 4 consecutive times before either making the playoffs or getting cy'd between 2003 to 2023. They even had a season where the team was 26-33 and ended up finishing the season 18-5 to avoid a critical CY. Now that was all 16+ seasons ago, the reason they're not higher is because the new regime hasn't done awhole lot better, yes they aren't worrying about CY every 4 years, but they aren't exactly contending either. They have had some great players in recent years such as Stanley Johnson, Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley. Though they're another team that is on the outside looking in for the playoffs in the east. They do have the young Gary Payton who has been great for the Nets every single season he's played for them thus far averaging 9 + assist and 17 + points from his sophomore season up until recently (only because of better options). Still the Nets are a long ways away from becoming a premier franchise in the east which year by year seems harder and harder to do.
26: Charlotte Hornets
Championships/Finals:
0/1
Playoff appearances:
16
Overall regular season success:
1454-1608 (47.5%)
Overall post season success:
56-84 (40.0%)
Best record:
2016 Charlotte Hornets (itnas123) 53-29
Worst record:
2005 New Orleans Hornets (itnas123) 17 65
GM's (bold are GM's who won atleast one ring):
willyj,itnas123
Summary: Yes, if you are rather new to this league and know anything about the Hornets, you maybe surprised to learn that the Hornets have been to the finals atleast once, at the very beginning of the sim league the Hornets actually surprised people that year and went all the way to the finals led by Steve Francis and would take the Lakers to 7 games. Then this GM named itnas came in, would later trade Steve Francis to the Miami Heat (btw, he sucked for my team) and would begin a very very very very long tradition of trading $1 for 4 quarters deals. A almost sad trademark of his that would have the rest of the league laughing and scratching their heads repeatedly, almost to the point of their skulls bleeding. Players such as Milan Macvan, Tyonne Malone, Alonzo Raines (was traded as a draft pick) and Dr. J were all traded relatively young and the Hornets really don't have much to show for these guys other then future trades with their future star players. It's just a cycle that never seems to end for this team.
The Hornets are slowly starting to realize that they need a change up in thinking, they now Earl Manigault who is a very nice 25 point scorer for the Hornets and Isiah Thomas who is locked into his prime right now. Though it's still not producing much success for the Hornets as their still outside of the playoffs. Maybe by 2070 though the Hornets will make their next finals appearence and show the world just how terrifying a Hornet is. Till then we'll be hoping and praying that itty has stopped these $1 for 4 quarter deals and starts building some that fans can get behind
25 Denver Nuggets
Championships/Finals:

Overall regular season success:
1367-1695 (44.6%)
Overall post season success:
86-87 (49.7%)

Worst record:
2017 Denver Nuggets (waxy) 8-74
GM's (bold are GM's who won atleast one ring):
ColdJ3, zjd,waxy,springs
Summary: One of my most favorite teams in this sim league excluding my own was the Melo/Marbury Nuggets. Where they had two players capable of averaging 25+ points a game (Melo got 30 points a game a few times I'm sure) and had the most lethal offenses in the league averaging I believe around 110-115 a game. It's too bad nothing good ever came out of that besides the 50+ season wins that are still team records for the Nuggets. Since 2007 the Nuggets have been on a 32 year drought in terms of winning 50 games or more. That's maybe a better problem to have then some of the problems these previous teams have but it also sort of shows why the Nuggets haven't been able to get to that next step. They have never really been dominant. They have always just been hanging around the league. At some point they need to take a risk and try to outsmart the competition and become more dominant. That's easier said then done of course. But they are playing out west where typically there's only 1/2 contenders a year. They just need to do something that can help them gain an advantage over other western team. The good news about the Nuggets is they atm have two outstanding young guards in Shawn Respert (who is probably the most improved player of the century) and Allan Houston they are currently building around. With another likely loto pick this season being 11-28 they could have something special in Denver in a year or two. Maybe by then they can move up a little here and start becoming a premiere franchise.

Summary: Unfortunately, this is where my team goes. Though the Sonics have seen alot of success recently which includes 3 finals trips in 8 years and 1 championship as a result. Like most of these teams the early problems do hurt that success a bit. The Sonics (later turned Thunder then back to Sonics) have always been average until recently, never all that good and never all that bad (minus a few 17/18 win seasons). The team had their share of some good players as well such as Chris Bosh, Kevin Durant and Andrew Bynum. The team didn't really start making noise until the team traded for Tyonne Malone and Moses Malone which later led to two 53 win seasons and two finals appearances with one bringing home a ring. After a short little rebuild the Sonics would somehow make it all the way back to the finals in 2038 to face the Wizards despite only being 44-38 that season, led by Kevin Willis and Kelly Tripucka that season. Unfortunately for them they lost in a 7 game series vs DC that created alot of injury issues for Seattle.
Again, Seattle retooled and now have a very young team to go along with Dikembe Mutombo, Benji Wilson, Kobe Bryant and Terrell Brandon. The Sonics have a promising future and hope to once again get back to winning rings sooner rather then later. We'll see how the potential of this team pans out.
