Might as well get this started now that we are in this place for the long haul. Ask away

Rumour has it that the GM's office was littered with items thrown around post the defeat at the hands of the Miami Heat. Has a short amount of time healed any wounds?

Rumors are circulating that Dirk will be testing the waters of free agency this coming off-season. How confident are you at retaining his services?
(please ask one in return!)

Rumour has it that the GM's office was littered with items thrown around post the defeat at the hands of the Miami Heat. Has a short amount of time healed any wounds? (From the perspective of a team spokesperson): Well I see that the antics of the Magic's GM has landed him in some rumor mills. The Magic organization values the privacy of our employees very highly and so we will not disclose such details. . What I can say is that Magic are very lucky to have a staff that cares about the franchise and whom are working tirelessly to better our chances of winning a championship. As for any "wounds" that will need healing, that's what a long offseason will hopefully do. We will use this latest loss as motivation to be better next year. In this business, only a championship can heal anyone's wounds.

Rumors are circulating that Dirk will be testing the waters of free agency this coming off-season. How confident are you at retaining his services? (please ask one in return!)Those rumors are correct. We were unable to extend Dirk after multiple attempts with his agent who clearly feels that Dirk can maximize his earnings potential by testing FA. With that said, we as a franchise believe we still offer Dirk one of the best places to play in terms of lifestyle, exposure, money, and most importantly; an opportunity to win a championship and to finish what we started 3 seasons ago.

What do you feel is the missing piece for this team to win a championship ? Better rebounding. The answer is easy, but the solution isn't lol. Also, a good TC wouldn't hurt either.

If you had to put a number on it, how confident are you in being able to keep Dirk in Orlando ?

If you had to put a number on it, how confident are you in being able to keep Dirk in Orlando ? On a scale of 1-10, I'd give it a solid 8/10. Dirk wants to win, he's loyal, and he likes money. We have at least 2/3 of those factors in our favor, and we are one of the premier destinations in terms of giving Dirk a chance to win, so I am reasonably confident we can retain him.

Do you have any contingency plans in place should ze German walk? Not gonna lie, I had planned everything assuming that we would have Dirk. Due to a mistake on our end, we lost him. Our "plan" now is to just see what's out there and see what's up. We'll have ample cap space next season to try and make a splash. As for the upcoming season, contending is probably not going to happen.

How has Tracy McGrady responded to the news that Dirk is leaving Orlando? He felt betrayed, and disappointed. With that said, he is still under contract and he's being paid a lot of money to play a game so he'll suit up and play. Besides, this just means more shots for Tmac.

Does the team plan to use Steve Francis at point guard or will Ramon Sessions be given the starting nod there ?

Does the team plan to use Steve Francis at point guard or will Ramon Sessions be given the starting nod there ? With the direction the wind is blowing, Steve Francis will most likely be starting at point guard for us. We aren't throwing in the towel with the current roster, and Francis's past history at point guard would give him the start over Sessions.

It's not a secret that Joe Johnson wants to chuck. Is the key to successful chucking depth of chuck, or designated chuckers?

Steve Francis came into the pre-season guns blazing, has he upped his game up a level or is he playing for his next contract ? Probably both. Francis has always been this sort of sparkplug. Given the roster we had last season, nobody was really putting up their true numbers. This outburst is no surprise given the opportunities.

Is T-Mac going to play with a chip on his shoulder now that he saw Dirk leave the team this offseason? As you saw in the preseason, Tmac has now been given full reins to the offense, and he's playing angry. So the early prognosis on that question is: yes. We hope he can keep it up.

The off-season's been quite turbulent for Orlando. Are they still ready to compete at the highest levels? That's really hard to say at this point. We aren't done setting our starting 5, and likely won't be for a while. We certainly hope to finish in the top 4 by season's end and hopefully by then we'll be playing as well as the top teams in the league, and be able to make a run for the ECF, and the Finals.

How will the addition of Shawn Marion help out T-Mac on the Perimeter ? We think Marion will be an elite complementary piece to put next to McGrady so he can do what he does best; put the ball in the basket. Marion is still an elite defender in this league, and he is a solid rebounder for his position. He is also versatile on offense, and we're sure McGrady and Francis will love playing alongside him.

Another sim year, another season spent up near the top. How far do the Magic go this post season? Right now we are just focused on playing the best basketball we can put out, and to improve our record. If we take care of that, going far in the playoffs will come.
